About the Author

Lee Tobin McClain read Gone With The Wind in the third grade and has been an incurable romantic ever since. When she's not writing emotional love stories with happy endings, she's probably driving around a carload of snarky teen girls, playing with her rescue dog and cat, or teaching aspiring writers in Seton Hill University's MFA program. She is probably not cleaning her house.

I think the first important thing to clarify is that this book CAN be read as a standalone – in fact I had no idea there was a ‘book 1’ until after I had read this one. It appears that although each story is based on twins, they are not the same twins, situations, or people. Also, if you are like me, and tend to be hesitant about romance books – because to be honest, they can swing from great, to cheesy, to overly sexy (like it’s forced into the story) – you have nothing to fear with this book. Also worth mentioning is there are several christian undertones and references. But if religion isn’t for you, I still think you will enjoy this book. It’s not overly religious, and it’s fitting, considering it’s based in a small town where social gatherings often surround the local church, on Christmas, and with a character that has lived her life helping her own mother and others through recovery programs that often lean toward religious recovery. I am Christian myself, so it didn’t bother me, but I would say if you are not, it won’t distract you from the story – again, it’s largely based on where the townspeople gather, and the characters occasionally asking (in short pieces) for God’s guidance, but much like anyone would, even just talking to the universe. Just based on the way the story started, I was scared. Any book that starts with a huge secret is scary for me! The secret never ends up coming out in a good way – I mean, it adds to the story when there’s a little drama, right? But it never leaves me any less tense, with the constant “tell them now!!” screaming in my head. In this case, I wasn’t completely wrong, but was pleasantly surprised how it turned out. In fact, the way the entire story was written, it was a VERY nice surprise on several fronts; not forced, quick romance, appropriately complicated but not overly dramatic, and even when I saw some things coming, and knew I wouldn’t like some of them, I still knew they were great additions to the story (again where the ‘appropriately complicated’ fits in). And Papa’s character? He was such a great fit! Erica and Jason needed the occasional middle man, and his old school, straight to the point, simple way of looking at things was perfect. He constantly made my heart melt – just as much as the sweet twins themselves. This story definitely falls into the sweet romance category, and fits around PG-13, maybe like a Christmas movie you would see on the Hallmark Channel (which I highly recommend to the Hallmark people, by the way), and left me feeling warm and fuzzy, and very much looking forward to Christmas with my own family, working harder this year to focus on how lucky I am to have my family – not the ‘things’ we often get wrapped up in. I really do recommend this light, quick read to anyone – even if you don’t normally read this genre. You will definitively be pleasantly surprised, and find your heart a little lifted by the time you’re done!

I had a hard time putting this book down! Twins are special to me as I am a grandmother to 6 month old twins and these babies were so special in this story.. The ideas in this book, giving more than expected, of unconditional love , doing the right thing by giving the unvarnished truth when promises clearly have to be broken to do it, made this a wonderful Christmas read. I was gifted a copy and my review is voluntary..

JUST IN TIME TO ORDER FOR CHRISTMAS: Secret Christmas Twins I’m pleased to share a review of Lee Tobin McClain’s newest Love Inspired romance: Secret Christmas Twins. Release date: TODAY! October 17, 2017. Story in a Nutshell: Erica and her twin baby boys arrive at the Stephanidis farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania shortly before Christmas, sent by her good friend, whose grandfather owns the farm. She has no idea that her friend’s brother, Jason, has returned home to help out on the farm. Both Erica and Jason have been wounded by life, and although they are drawn to each other, aided by the adorable twins, they have trust issues resulting from past experiences and relationships. Just as life seems to be shaping up for Erica and Jason, a well-kept secret threatens to divide them for good. My Reaction: This lovely Christmas tale has all the makings of a good Christian romance: two main characters who are broken and needy, a couple of solid secondary characters who add wisdom and humor to the story, a setting complete with snow and sleigh rides, two adorable babies who win the hearts of all, spiritual struggles, and a huge secret that threatens to create disaster and prevent the two from happiness and healing. I was captivated by the story and the characters’ efforts to overcome the obstacles between them and a fulfilling life. I give this book 5 stars for its quality and positive impact. Readers of Christian romance will love it.

I really liked this book. Erica and Jason both had issues from the past that they had to deal with, but I liked how they were able to overcome them. Sometimes it is hard to know what the right thing to do is, and that was a real struggle for Erica. Trust and forgiveness was a real problem for Jason, but I think the hardest part was for him to forgive himself. I thought this was a great story and I would recommend it. I received a PDF copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion, which I have given.

Secret Christmas Twins is about two people who are at a cross roads in their lives. When they are brought together unexpectedly, God intervenes in a most beautiful way. And He uses two adorable twin boys to make it all happen. Erica Lindholm befriends a drug addict named Kimmie who is dying of cancer. When she is called by her friend to take custody of her two twin sons, Erica agrees. She takes Kimmie's two fifteen month old sons and travels Kimmie's childhood home. Erica that there was a cabin that she could live in and raise the two twins that she has come to love. When Erica travels to Kimmie's childhood home she encounter's Kimmie's brother, Jason Stephanidis. Jason is a detective that is on leave from work as he deals with an issue with his partner. Jason notices how beautiful the young mother is that claims she is Kimmie's friend, but he is suspicious of her. As he comes to know Erica and the twins he realizes Erica is a nice person with a good heart. He also sees that the twins have needs that he wants to help Erica meet. Jason believes he is terrible at relationships and has nothing to offer Erica. Erica also has her share of baggage. The main being she has not told Jason or his father that the twins she is caring for are actually Kimmie's children. She fears Jason will take the twins from her. But the more she gets to know Jason, the more she realizes he is a compassionate person that wants to help everyone. When the truth comes out, are the feelings Jason and Erica feel for each other enough to overcome the lies Erica has told? Can two twins capture the hearts of both Jason and Erica and lead them to each other. Also what plan does God have for each of their lives? Secret Christmas Twins was so well written. The characters are endearing and you get to see them develop. I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
