Overview

Secret Identity (Shredderman Series #1) by Wendelin Van Draanen, Brian Biggs

Alvin Bixby: Hulking, knuckles of steel, hideous breath, foul temper. Kids call him: Bubba.

Nolan Byrd: Puny, power walker, math genius, can’t keep shoes tied. Kids call him: Nerd.

Bubba has been the bane of Nolan’s existence for five long years. So when Mr. Green asks the class to become reporters, Nolan decides he’ll write an exposé—on Bubba. He doesn’t want to sign his name to it (that’d be suicidal), so Nolan creates a secret identity for himself—on the Internet. He launches Shredderman.com as a place where truth and justice prevail—and bullies get what’s coming to them.

This hilariously triumphant story is for any kid who’s ever dreamed of unleashing their own inner superhero!

Shredderman Book review The book I read is shredderman and the author is Wendelin Van Draarnen. Mostly the setting is at the school, and at Nolan¿s house. The genre is realistic fiction. This book has 138 pages in the whole thing. Bubba Bixby is a bully he cheats steals and cuts in line and he beats up and terrorizes little kids even the teachers and principal don¿t like him. Nolan has been having bully problems with Bubba Bixby he has been betting him since third grade so they know he is mean. Nolan thinks it takes a superhero to make him to make bubba be quiet and stop bullying people. Nolan decides to teach bubba a lesson so Nolan decides to become a superhero on the computer. Mr. Green is Nolan and bubbas teacher. Nolan is kind of a nerd. My favorite part was when Bubba got back to school and he was meaner than ever. He pushes and he had not changed a bite he had not changed a bit. He was still evil as ever the teachers still don¿t like him at all he calls people worst names. I like it because the author does not boar me with detail she puts in just the right amount of detail. If you like all that then this is the book for you.

Shredderman, by Wendelin Van Draanen will BLOW YOU AWAY! This realistic fiction EPIC novel will make you shred through pages day and night. Selling over 2 million copies, Shredderman will make your brain shred and you will want to stand up to bullies. You will go off like a firework. This story will make you think that this is really happening to someone because it takes place in the present time. This book was a finalist for the Christopher Medal for Shredderman, only for Shredderman. Shredderman shreds so much they had to direct a T.V show for it AND, they made a movie. Van Draanen loved to stand up to bullies and she needed to make a book about it. Wendelin was a tomboy when she was younger. She has written several other books such as three other Shreddermans, and The Running Dream. She has won a state award for herself. A quote from her is ¿Next time you¿re faced with a choice, do the right thing, it hurts everyone less in the long run. Nolan Bryd is a fifth grade student who is struggling with friends and his parents at home. The story takes place in a New York classroom. Nolan is getting bullied by ¿ Bubba Bixby¿ for no reason at all. Mr. Greene (his teacher) gives him a good grade and gives him a nick name to stand up to Bubba. Bubba is very amazed at what Nolan did. Wendelin uses her descriptive words to describe the setting. For example ¿It all takes place in this big bull pen called school¿. She also uses short sentences to describe the bully, Bubba Bixby. An example is¿ Like lying. And cheating. And stealing. Bubba does that. She doesn¿t describe the good things about Bubba because nothing is good about him. Bubba Bixby was born big and mean, full of teeth and ready to bite. I think she was partially successful because she didn¿t say anything nice in the story about Bubba. She did use a lot of descriptive words throughout the story. This book can connect to another book called The Tiger Rising. The kid in that book is also getting bullied. You are also in luck because there is a series to the book. Nolan is still being bullied but, does even more to stop it. Four other books are in the series and they are spectacular. If you read Shredderman I strongly recommend you read Big Nate and Diary Of a Wimpy Kid the series. Big Nate is about a boy who is getting bullied and is getting into mischief . Diary Of a Wimpy is about middle school bulling and Greg is getting to the bottom of it.

So this book is an awesome book. Shredderman is a good series. The author used very simple words so the book seems to flow really easy and its very easy to read. It was kind of a page turner but its not an action book, its more of a mystery, there fore some points in the book seemed a little dull. Like in the beginning when your trying to understand who the characters are and what parts they play. But once you hit like Chapter 3, the book keeps you pretty hooked, I did find it hard to set down at some points, Very satisfied with it. I would recommend this book to anyone from middle school to 16.

This is one book whose cover did not encourage me to read it's contents. However once I began to read, I discovered an inspiring story line, educational moral, and could not wait to pick the book back up. Each time I set it down I could not wait to find out what happened next! Very Good book. Many lessons for children.

Shredder Man By Wendelin Van Draanen Shredder man the genre is fiction. The setting takes place in school. The book is 138 pages long. This book tells the the story of this kid that is named Nolan and he getting bullied around by this kid bubba. So Nolan makes a web site about bubba, Nolan is a puny math wiz he¿s called a nerd. Bubba Bixby is a bully he cheats cut in lines steals and terrorizes little kids. This story is about a boy named Nolan who is getting picked on by this kid bully named bubba. He is the school bully and he gets in trouble a lot. When Nolan makes a web site that is called shredder man he was making fun of bubba and filming funny videos of bubba and all the kids would go on his web site. So bubba yells in the class because every one is laughing at him go he goes to the office. His teacher Mr. Green knows about Nolan web site and he said it was a good thing he did that. Mr. Green knows Nolan is shredder man. One of my favorite scenes is when bubba comes back to school and he¿s madder than ever. That is my favorite part because it is when bubba is even meaner than before he would beat Nolan up 3 times a day. I would recommend the book shredder man by Wendlin Van Draanen. I would recommend this book because it is an easy read and it is only 138 paged it has a lot of details

In the story Shredderman written by Wendlin Draanen takes place in modern times. They¿re 138 pages and it is a great childrens book because it is very funny and had a lot of action. IN this story life is tough at school for Nolan, he does not have friends and people are always picking on him. Nolan gets very tired of it so he makes up a secret identity and makes a website on his secret name Shredderman a super hero nobody knows of yet. The main character is Named Nolan an 11 year old boy who is very smart and is a nerd until he takes care of the bully bubba. My favorite part of this story was when he was making up his screen saver for Shredderman because it was cool to read about a secret identity being made on the computer. I loved the pictures and words he put on the front I think it was really cool because it was one of a kind. I would recommend this book to people who like action humorous and short stories and that is what Shredderman is you can really enjoy it so when you see this book I do recommend you bye it!!!

The story, Shredderman, takes place in a school area in the present time. There are 138 pages in the book Shredderman. The author is Wendlin van Draanen. This story is about a kid, Noel, who gets picked on all of the time. Noel is in the fifth grade and kind of nerdy. Bubba Bixby is a bully and he cheats, steals, and cuts in line. He picks on everyone in the school. Bubba Bixby picks on Noel all of the time. Bubba calls Noel many names and makes him feel bad. This makes Noel feel like he is a little kid and that he is not really old enough to accomplish anything. That is until he gets an assignment to write a report on anyone he wants. He decides that he wants to write his report about Bubba Bixby, but then has second thoughts. Noel thinks that if he does his report on Bubba, that Bubba will beat him up. He then decides to write his report on someone else, but comes up with another idea. Noel decides to make a website called Shredderman.com. On this website Noel shows pictures of Bubba picking on other kids and him, but the website has to remain a secret. No one can know it is Noel who created the website because he doesn¿t want to get in trouble with his teachers or beaten up by Bubba Bixby. My favorite part of this book is when Noel is climbing to the top of the roof to throw little flyers onto the plays cape. These flyers are all about Shredderman.com. This was a really funny part in the book. Noel gets onto a truck, climbs up a pipe, gets onto an air conditioner, swings onto a flood light, and then onto the roof. When he is on the roof the man owning the truck drives away. So, on the way back down he decides to jump. His hands and knees get all cut up. I would recommend this book because it is really good and funny.

My Book Review My book review is on the book Shedderman. It is by Wendelin Van Draanen. The genre is realistic fiction. It mainly takes place in a school in Cedar Valley. This story is about a boy named Nolan Byrd. He goes to this school in Cedar Valley. He has a bit of a problem, actually all the students have problems, and it¿s called Bubba Bixby, the school bully. Bubba can¿t be stopped. Not even by teachers and principals! Nolan needs to find a way to stop him without Bubba knowing who he is. My favorite part of the story is when Nolan makes a website all about Bubba. I liked the things he puts on the website and how he does it. It is well thought out. I think this book is a good book, and should be read by anyone who reads this review. I highly recommend this book because it has funny moments and it makes you want to find out what happens next.

In this book their is a kid named Nolan Bird who gets bossed around by the school bully all day named Bubba. When Nolan gets tired of Bubba bossing him around he decides to make a plan that includes him making a secret video camera in his backpack so he could take a video of Bubba wherever he goes. iThen he can show the bullying stuff that Bubba does. Then Nolan gets another idea that he is going to make a website about himself with a secret nickname. His secert nickname is Shredderman. He puts Bubba's most embarassing moments on the site. He keeps a secret nickname so Bubba won't figure out and start beating him up.

My 3rd grade son has tried for so long to find a book that he couldn't put down. He is a reluctant reader and has difficulty staying 'on task' . He's tried the Treehouse Series, The Zak Files, Captain Underpants, Hardy Boys etc. but he just never found them to be quite his style. HE LOVED Shredderman!!! I was so happy that I found it hard to ask him to stop reading it at bedtime. He anxiously awaits another to be written. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it comes soon!
