Secrets of Harmony Grove is another great read by Mindy Starns Clark. Each book gets better -- and this one doesn't have the intense suspense pacing of Under the Cajun Moon. It is set in Amish country, but like another reviewer said isn't an Amish book. Instead, the story focuses on Sienna and a murder that occurs at her B&B in the heart of Lancaster county. There are many layers that are woven from the first chapter. At times I wondered how all the varied pieces would fit together, but by the end, they all came together. There's her job, her boyfriend, a mystery surrounding her grandfather, a World War II twist, not to mention a murder and couple assaults to be solved. As she digs, each layer twists and turns through the pages. There's also a tightly woven layer spiritual theme that fits with the rest of the plot. It adds a layer of dimension to the main character without slowing down the reading. The characterization goes below the surface level, and the motivations for the characters works. It is a complex book that makes for a page-turning read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the ultimate twist that comes in the final pages.

In Secrets of Harmony Grove, popular author Mindy Starns Clark takes readers on an exciting adventure in the peaceful Amish setting of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Sienna Collins, absentee owner of the Harmony Grove Bed and Breakfast, finds herself caught in a web of mystery and danger when she discovers her former boyfriend murdered and the inn's manager unconscious. Struggling to clear herself and learn the truth, Sienna must call on all her strength and faith just to survive. Highly recommended! Marta Perry, author of Murder in Plain Sight

After losing her marketing executive job due to some sort of US Attorney General investigation of her, Sienna Collins considers moving onto the property she inherited from her late grandfather in Harmony Grove, Pennsylvania. Based on the advice of her then boyfriend Troy Griffin, Sienna and her dad converted the place into a successful Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast though she has not been there in a couple of years. Still in Boston, Sienna tries to figure out what just happened to her when Troy calls. Sienna heads to the B&B only to find Troy dead and already in legal trouble, she is only suspect. As she investigates, she finds ties to the Holocaust and increased suspicion by the cops that she is dangerous while someone watches her every move. The key to this strong suspense thriller is a romantic subplot remains mostly in the background supporting the prime theme of a woman in trouble. The story line is fast-paced from the moment that Sienna is suspended from her job and never slows down as she and the readers try to figure out what is going on in this complicated mystery. Although the climax seems too simple for such a complex plot, fans will relish learning the Secrets of Harmony Cove. Harriet Klausner

Sienna's Grandfather had been brought up Amish, but her Dad and his family had not. The setting for her Inn is an Amish Community. She does have a lot of Amish family who live around her inn and help her. The spin on this story will take you from a serene Amish community to Nazi Germany and the Concentration Camps. There is a lot twist and turns in the story, including Mob involvement. There is also her Grandfather's PTSD from the War. Just when you think you know what is going on...something else happens. It becomes a real page turner...keep them coming Mindy! The opinions expressed are my own!

When purchasing this book I thought it was an Amish story. It is set in an Amish community and does have a few Amish characters, but it is not an Amish story. There is murder, intrigue, bad guys, good guys, secret rooms, romance, funny parts, sad parts - lots of stuff that make this story an interesting one. I found myself caught up in the story and eager to read what would happen next. ****esk 05/2017****

Once again, Mindy Starns Clark takes us to Lancaster County where the Amish people make their home. Moira heads there for answers when her ex-fiance is killed and she finds out she's under investigation by the Attorney General. Although it became just a little predictable near the end, I nonetheless enjoyed the read and would recommend it to anyone who's read any of Clark's stories. If you haven't, consider reading Under the Cajun Moon first. Although it's not her first novel, I consider it one of her best ones. I also liked the Penny for Your Thought series.
