Cynthia Dobbs is dying. Despite her grave diagnosis, she refuses to give up without exploring every possible cure. Cynthia comes from a long line of fighters, and she is determined-she won't end her lineage. Family lore endures that Cynthia's great-grandmother was cured in 1906 by the illustrious Dr. Smith at his world-renowned cedar water sanatorium and health resort. Dr. Smith offered health and longevity through secret water tonics. Cynthia sets out for Egg Harbor City to probe the prospects.
Egg Harbor City holds both hope and mystery for Cynthia as she arrives and opens up her grandmother's old home. As she settles in, though, she is both shunned and welcomed by the locals-some believe that her grandmother was a witch and that the house is haunted, while others quickly embrace her charming personality.
Despite eerie incidences at her grandmother's home, Cynthia is undeterred. She dives into the museum's memorabilia, where she meets Kyle Dwyer, a man fighting his own decades-old demons. Join Cynthia and Kyle as they dig deep into the museum's archives, their romance blossoms, and the mystery of the tonics deepens.

First, let me tell you a little about the author, Roy Carl Weiler. He is a real nice guy. He is bright, sweet and funny. I have come to know him somewhat through the book store and I really think he is quite interesting. So when I began to read his book, ¿Secrets of the Museum¿, I thought it was going to be all about museum facts and history. BOY WAS I WRONG!!!
It does have a lot of great historical facts in it. It you are familiar with South Jersey you will relate to the places Roy writes about. Personally, I have great memories of most of the places he writes about. Especially Renault Winery ¿I like the Pink Lady¿
Ok, back to the book. It is a great love story. A unique romance. A beautiful friendship and love. Do you know how there is someone for everyone? Do you know that feeling when loves walks in the door? If you have never experienced these feelings- this book will let you experience those feelings though the characters, Cynthia and Kyle.
Then there are all the other things going on in the book. The history, the rumors of witches, the odd haunted things going on in the old house. I loved this book , love, romance, mystery, secret old healing ways, old hidden stream of life water and spooky things. Great ,great combination.
Then the ending..oh can¿t tell¿I will say this about the book, it could have been a quick read but I took 3 days. Why? I didn¿t want it to end. Roy writes like people speak and think. It was a great flowing book. I really enjoyed it, and it is a great time of year to read it because the setting really coincides with the current weather. I though that really put a nice touch on the book. Great Book, Roy !!!
I found the book fast paced and exciting. A great beach or plane trip book.
