Praise for Seduced in the Dark:

?To the returning readers of this series, I can say this... You absolutely won't be disappointed. This story is one helluva ride you won't want to miss. As I approached the last quarter of the story, I felt like I stepped into a Quentin Tarantino film, it was fabulous! There were so many twists and turns to the plot, things that took me by surprise! The writing is crisp, the plot is tight, and I wasn't able to find any holes. This book is more than erotic, there's a brilliant story being told, and it was everything I hoped it would be and more!!? ? Rhonda, from SamsAwesomeness.Blogspot.Com

?I sobbed through this book. I mean chest heaving sobs. Even now I well up thinking about it. I had high expectations for this book. Let me tell you those expectations were exceeded and then some.? ? Jenny, from TotallyBookedBlog.com

While I find the story itself to be intriguing, it's just still so dark for my personal tastes. I think it would be difficult for anyone who has any history of abuse to read. That being said, I liked the way the story was told through flashbacks and memories. I also enjoy the ending very much. In spite of everything I disliked, I did find myself invested in the characters. There are definite triggers in this book. Keep that in mind if you choose to read the series.

I thought the first book in this series was fantastic but I have to say that this one exceeded the first.  There are so many twists and turns in the plot that I couldn't put it down.  The more I learned about Caleb and his past the more I was able to understand his thought processes.  Fighting his need for revenge while falling in love with Livvie and then discovering his life has been a lie was heartbreaking.  This is one of the best series I've read in a long time.

I enjoyed SITD even more than CITD. The story telling is done through past & present tenses through Livvie’s POV. ***Spolier-ish if you haven’t read the first book Captive In The Dark*** Livvie is being held in a psych ward after turning herself in & is refusing to speak. Right from the start my heart bled for her. You can feel her emotions as she grieves for Caleb. As Livvie begins to retell her story about the events that happened after Caleb leaves her, she begins to question her feelings for him. She wonders if she saw things that weren’t really there. I forgot just how strong Livvie is & she has become one of my favorite female characters. C.J.’s writing pulls you in & doesn’t let you go, even after you’ve finished the book. At the beginning of this series I would’ve never thought I’d be even remotely invested in Caleb. But one of the most powerful scenes I’ve ever read was when Caleb finds out the truth about who Rafiq & Vladik are to him. Caleb showed so much emotion that it broke my heart. The ending was perfect, even if it would’ve been the last book. But THANK GOODNESS we’re getting Epilogue, which will be told from Caleb’s POV.  - He told her he wasn’t her Prince Charming, but what he hadn’t said, was he wished he could be.

Now the writing is absolutely brilliant. She has a writing style all to her own. At least from anything that I have read. And I read A LOT (write very few reviews, that's how special these ones are). Seduced in the dark has to be one of the most captivating books I have ever had the pleasure (scratch that) the trepidation of reading. Throughout this entire series I couldn't stop wondering how this mastermind CJ Roberts had done it. I couldn't believe how much I fell in love in the villain of the story, Caleb. How could someone so cruel and hurtful in every way (even the ones I couldn't imagine) also be this totally different in the eyes of the one who he held captive and me. I hated my self for loving this evil man, and the glimpses that I got of who he could be broke my heart. Livie is another character that I loved to hate, because she was having the same emotional problems that I was having with Caleb. She knew it was completely wrong a twisted to love this man that had done so much to her. Sometimes I wanted to reach through the pages and slap her and other times I was crying with her for the lost of her love one. As she relieve the terrors of the past 4 months that she had been held captive, I couldn't help but to relate to her emotions. There is something about this series that pulls you in by the hair and doesn't let you go even when you are screaming for it to stop. But in the end you're satisfied and grateful that you didn't give into all the voices in your head telling you your wrong for loving this. READ THIS SERIES SERIOUSLY!!!
