CHAPTER ONE

Three things occurred to Catherine Harris as she jerked awake from a dead sleep.

One. She was stark-naked in Luke Van Buren’s bed.

Two. He was about to enter his bedroom.

Three. He wasn't alone. A woman’s throaty laughter mingled with Luke’s deep baritone in the hallway.

Catherine tried not to panic. Suddenly years of planning didn’t seem like nearly enough time. She leaned up on her elbow, squinted into the darkness, remembered she’d thrown her bra over the clock to block the red LCD light, and flopped back on the pillow.

Several options, none of them viable, flashed through her sleep-fogged brain. Hiding under the bed while bedsprings bounced was too hideous to contemplate. As was the picture of the fire department rescuing her from the ledge outside Luke’s bedroom window, twenty-two stories above the street.

A soft thud. A shoe?

The sound of her own rapid pulse did nothing to block out the next thump. The swish of clothing. An impatient sigh. A damp, hungry kiss pressed to bare flesh. Framed in the open doorway, barely discernible, she made out the white of Luke’s shirt as the woman’s hands made fast work of removing it.

A flutter of pale shushed to the carpet. A click. Oh, God. His belt buckle? “Speak up, Catherine,” she whispered.

The distinct rasp of a zipper.

The sound of a juicy kiss.

Pulling the slick comforter to her chin, she tried to block out the murmurs.

“Oh, Luke!” The woman sounded blonde. More rustling, heated murmurs, breathy sighs. Catherine’s cheeks flamed, blood pounded in her ears.

Ohhhh, Lu-uuke? Mouth cotton-dry with dread, she anticipated the fireworks to come. Hysterical laughter bubbled up. She cleared her throat.

“Make love to me, Luke. Oh, yes. . .I adore when you touch me there. . .yes. Mmm, Oh, yes.”

Oh, no! Catherine tried to slither out of the way before the woman flopped onto the bed like a beached minnow. Too late.

The weight of two full-grown adults squashed the air out of Catherine’s lungs. She grunted, and tried to wriggle out from under, but found absolutely no traction on satin sheets.

The woman rolled to the side, shot to her feet, and let out a bloodcurdling scream. With a thump and a curse, Luke landed on the floor beside the bed.

“What in God’s name-”

“There’s someone in your bed,” the woman shrieked.

Darkness pulsed for several moments as Luke got to his feet. Catherine heard him fumble for the switch on the bedside lamp. Show time.

She sat up, tucked the slithery sheet under her armpits, and tried her best to appear nonchalant. Chances were she looked like the wild woman of Borneo. She hadn’t braided her hair before she’d gone to bed; it frothed and foamed about her bare shoulders and tickled the tops of her breasts. The bedside light snapped on just as she blew a particularly stubborn hank out of her eyes. As she squinted into the brightness, her gaze clashed with the pair of narrowed gray-green eyes boring a hole into the middle of her forehead.

“Catherine.” Luke zipped his pants, then buckled his belt before raking his fingers through his already disheveled dark hair. His broad, hairy chest expanded with the ragged, frustrated breath he dragged into his lungs.

Reluctantly she tore her gaze from his splendidly naked chest and waited for the dragon to roar. He appeared twice as tall as six-foot-three, and three times as irritated as he'd been when she’d backed his new sports car into the mailbox years ago.

His look pinned her in place. “I might have known.” He plucked her bra off the clock. “Yours?” The black sports bra hung like a limp piece of licorice in his large, well-shaped hand.

Catherine leaned forward just enough to take the bra without losing her grip on the safely tucked sheet. “Thanks.” The brush of his fingers sent an electrical charge up her arm.

She cleared her throat, then decided to live dangerously. She fluttered her eyelashes up at him. “Does this mean I have to get dressed now, honey?”

There is no leading up to anything in this one it just starts with a bang and keeps goin! I just about died when Luke and his date du'jour fell on Cat(naked by the way) in his bed in the midst of shedding their clothes and kissing for all they were worth. Too funny, and can you say awwwwkward!! In a nutshell this story is about Catherine Harris "Cat" and Luke Van Buren. His Dad and her Mom used to be married for a minute and Cat has been in love with Luke as long as she can remember. Luke on the other hand is slow on the uptake about his non-familia feelings for Cat as he struggles to honor his role as protector/big brother a role he promised to his father before he passed. Shenanigans ensue, sexual frustration mounts, and enough lack of communication that it'll make your head spin. Yet Cherry Adair manages to balance all those factors wonderfully for a delightful short read that will leave you smiling.

This is one of Ms. Adair's first works and it demonstrates her great promise. She is willing to tackle difficult and potentially controversial subjects. In this case the almost sibling-like relationship between the two main characters evolving to romance is well-written. It is annoying that Luke is so clueless and somewhat a man-whore, but none of us are perfect.

Finally someone creates characters who are ordinary citizens. They could be me and you. The hunks could be the contractor who comes to your home to give you a bid. This is the story of Catherine Harris and Luke Van Buren. She's a work from home gal and he's a made it on his own remodeling contractor. Together they're fantastic! Seducing Mr. Right is a moderately tame romance from super author, Cherry Adair. This is the first Harlequin novel of her's that I've read and, frankly, I'm impressed. It's still all Cherry – the snappy come-backs, heated scenes, and great story lines. Cat (Catherine) is a character most ladies can identify with. Forever uncertain about herself, never happy with her body, super self-conscious – flaws everyone can relate to. Luke is a man's man, great business and gorgeous body. He leaves his socks under the dining table to be found another day. Sound familiar?? Yeah, in my house too. On the proverbial reader's scale of 1 to10, I give this book a 9. It would have gotten a 10, had there been a sequel! LOL – Wish a secondary character, Nick, would have his own tale to tell. I'd enjoy reading about the dame that tames that man. Oh well.

I read Seducing Mr. Right in a couple of hours. So very sweet and hot! Luke was the big brother that Cat never had.Cat was the woman that Luke wanted but couldn't have. A promise to always be there as her Big brother changes into a temptation that neither of them could refuse! Very good story!

Catherine ¿Cat¿ Harris decides she has waited long enough for Luke Van Buren to stop treating her like his younger sister instead of his lover. Just because they are step-siblings does not mean they could not find happiness together since they share no blood ties. To shake Luke up, Cat asks him to find her Mr. Right but first teach her the art of seduction.

Luke knows that his feelings for Cat have evolved from older brother to wannabe lover. However, he promised his deceased dad, who loved his stepdaughter Cat, he will take care of her. Romance and seduction does not fit the definition of caring for Cat even if it feels right. He does not want her to find anyone else. He also knows if he starts teaching her how to seduce Mr. Right, he will be the one ¿biting her butt.¿

SEDUCING MR. RIGHT is a humorous romantic romp starring two likable lead characters. The story line is fluff, but it is escapist fluff that entertains the reader thoroughly. Cat¿s antics provide the audience with amusing scenarios that keep Luke on edge in more ways then one. It is their tender relationship that will have readers walking down the aisle of their bookstore to obtain other novels by Cherry Adair and other authors¿ books in the wedding celebration series.

Readers who loved Cherry Adair¿s KISS AND TELL won¿t want to miss this tale of a determined woman out to get her man. A delightful romp from the first page, it's sexy, funny, with a hunk-and-a-half hero. Misfires abound when Catherine decides she¿s wasted enough time dreaming about the stepbrother she¿s always adored--in the most unplatonic way. Luke has never felt the least bit fraternal about Catherine, but he¿s convinced he ought to. Besides, he promised both himself and his father that he¿d look out for her, and Luke is a man who never goes back on his word. When Catherine lands herself on Luke's doorstep--well, not *exactly* on his doorstep; the opening scene is a hoot--he's determined to keep his hands off her. (Fat chance, Luke!) Between Luke's best friend (a charmer who deserves his own book), Catherine's help-me-find-a-husband ploy, dialogue as witty as Crusie and the steam rising off the pages, SEDUCING MR. RIGHT delivers everything lovers of fast, funny contemporary romances could want.

Cherry Adair's SEDUCING MR. RIGHT is a delightful romp starring lovable characters you will root for from page one to the end. And then there's Cherry's gift for spectacular sexual tension...yummy! Buy this book. You won't regret it!
