About the Author

V. K. Sykes is a wife/husband writing team -Vanessa Kelly and Randall Sykes - who write romantic suspense and single-title contemporary romance. One of the great things they appreciate about being writers is that they can work anywhere so Vanessa and Randy split their time between Ontario, Canada, in the summer and Florida in the winter. Both locations have shores just as beautiful as the imaginary Seashell Bay.

Format: Galley Copy Holly left Sea Shell Bay years ago. She lost her husband overseas and decided to focus on her career and not worry about love and distancing her family and friends in the process. Holly returns when her aunt is in the hospital and her family needs her help running their store. She never planned on returning and plans on heading to NYC as soon as possible. Micah has been in love with Holly for a long time. He never believed he stood a chance. So, he never risked their close friendship by asking her out. Now that Holly is back and it's evident his feelings are returned he's going to risk it all as long as he can be with her. The mutual feelings between Holly and Micah leaps off the pages. Though I got frustrated with Holly being stuck with her plans for NYC. She was a bit too set in her ways. Micah was a wonderful leading man that left me swooning and wanting more of him. See You at Sunset is a wonderful second chance love story with a hero to swoon for. If you like your romance a little bit steamy with a whole lot of heart then you need this on your TBR list.

See You at Sunset is the next book in the series and this series just keeps getting better. This Micah and Holly's story. Micah is the Deputy Sheriff of Seashell Bay who has been in love with Holly since they were kids. Holly grew up in Seashell Bay but moved away and married but she is now widowed. She returns to Seashell Bay to help her aunts run their store. Burglaries start occurring and the thieves are targeting homes that have prescription painkillers. When Holly's aunt's house is the next home broken into, Micah stays close. Holly is fighting her feelings for Micah because she is afraid to love again and get hurt. As they work together, the sparks fly and feelings grow stronger.

Sweet and sexy friends to lovers romance! Holly is back in Seashell and bay, but after last summer, things are a bit awkward between her and Micah. They've been friends for years, but now she is looking at him differently. He is not only hot, but he is also one of the nicest heroes I've come across. Unfortunately, she is not in the market for a serious relationship, especially not one who reminds her of her husband, who died while on a mission in Afghanistan. Micah has had feelings for Holly ever since he can remember and this time he doesn't shy away from letting her know just how far he'll go to be with her. Their transition from friends to lovers is both sweet and spicy and I loved every minute of it! Perfect for fans of small town romance. I received an ARC via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

A sweet and sunny story with a twist of sexy, and drizzle of suspense. A lovely, heartfelt, and warm story from the Seashell Bay. It filled my mind with dreams of warm days, cool ocean, and sunny skies. This is a great escape romance, if you are looking for a few hours away from the cold, wet, and snow. The tale gives a look at the local peoples lives, as they are trying to find the balance of traditions of the island, and going forward, and accepting change. The readers get a glimpse of the life of a person buying coffee at the store, the little problems the police runs into, to the pill stealing thief, who is making the islanders feel unsafe at their little haven. Holly and Micah have been close friends all their lives, the physical attraction between them has been there for years, but never acted upon, or even talked about. Holly's life has been elsewhere since she was nineteen, and coming back to the island only for summer breaks, hasn't given much chance for a relationship, not to mention Holly was married, and then later on dating. But now the attraction is steaming, it is hotter than ever, and impossible to fight against. Micah is the perfect gentleman, he is kind, helpful, considerate, protective, passionate and sexy, there's nothing negative to say about him. Holly is still trying to deal with the sorrow and heartache from her husband's death five years ago. To survive the pain, she pushed it aside for so long, focusing only on her work and career. Her on/off casual relationship with Jackson gave her the chance to pretend she was moving on in life. But now, face to face with Micah once again, she has to confront her old daemons, decide what really makes her happy, what her priorities are, and where she wants to go, and end up, in life. Lots of tough topics to ponder, while taking care of her aunt's general store on the island, and helping Micah catch the thieves of the pills and jewelry. Delightful, captivating, and luscious, sunny story, filled with good friends, family, romance, and life as it is at the Seashell Bay. So sit back, and let it take you away for awhile.. ~ Four Spoons

See You at Sunset by V.K. Sykes was such a great story. This is book # 3 in the Seashell Bay series but can be read as a standalone book. Holly Tyler left Sea Shell Bay years ago to pursue a career in the big city and start a new life for herself after tragically losing her husband overseas. When Holly receives a call saying her aunt is in the hospital and her family needs her help running the store Holly heads back to the one place she hadn't planned on, Sea Shell Bay. Holly finds herself falling back into the groove Deputy sheriff Micah Lancaster has been friends with Holly for as long as he can remember. Micah has also been harboring feelings for Holly just as long and when they see each other again for the first time there is no denying the sparks that are flying between these two. Now Micah has convince Holly to stay and give them a try before she heads back to her life in NYC. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher for my honest review and opinion. Holly Tyler has come back to Seashell Bay to help at The General Store after her aunt was hospitalized. Micah Lancaster is the Deputy Sheriff of the Island and has always loved Holly. Holly's friends and family have loved and supported her as she turns into a workaholic after becoming a widow but with the changes in her life and the island everything seems out of control. Micah has his hands full with a crime spree on the island and finally getting his hands on Holly. Watching Holly come to realize what has been missing in her life since her husband died and what she needs was touching. It was great to go back to Seashell Bay and meet up with the characters (and they are characters). Miss Annie is her sassy self and Roy is still grumpy! **Received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGally in exchange for an honest review**

4.5* This series just keeps getting better and better. I love Micah and Holly! Micah is a hot alpha male and such a honorable man. He loves his family and friends and the community he protects as the Deputy Sheriff of Seashell Bay. Holly comes home to help take care of her aunts Beatrice and Florence after Florence ends up in the hospital after a major anxiety attach. Micah has been her good friend since childhood but since last summer she's had more feelings for him. The chemistry and sexual tension between the two was off the charts but Holly has spent years hiding behind her job afraid to open her heart again. Micah has his job cut out for him to convince Holly heat there's more to life then being a workaholic. One of my favorite things about V. K. Sykes is she builds a wonderful romance through out the book and it just sucks you into story. Can't wait to read more and I'm wondering if maybe Bram might be next? Hint Hint ;)

4 1/2 STARS! Sometimes you find what you always knew you wanted in the least likely place! A sweet friends-to-lovers romance that shows how overcoming loss and finding your way through to try again can be the best thing you ever did. Holly Tyler has always felt like Seashell Bay Island was"home" even though she's been living in Boston for years. Everyone she knows and loves are there waiting for her when she makes her yearly visit. This time she's arriving under disturbing circumstances though, and she's got to try to get her family healthy again and get the dilapidated business they've been running back in better shape before she heads back to Boston. Micah Lancaster is a deputy on the Island, and has been one of Holly's best friends for years. Last summer they spent a lot of time together when she was here and sparks were flying. He knows she's got a boyfriend, but he doesn't shy away from letting her know he's interested when she arrives this time. Will Holly do what she needs to do and head back to the city, or will she decide everything she'll ever need is right there on the Island? ** Received free in exchange for an honest review **

Holly is a dreamer. She sees her life as she wants it to be, because she's too afraid to face what it is. Micah has a few dreams of his own and they all include Holly as the star. Holly is his dream come true but he has to convince her that he can be hers too. Micah is the perfect fantasy. He saw Holly without blinders, flaws and all--BUT loved her anyway. That is the perfect guy. What made him extraordinary was his determination to show her how special she was. I received an ARC of See You at Sunset by V.K. Sykes in exchange for an honest review. Micah loved Holly enough to show her how to love herself. That is what I found so beautiful about this read.

SEE YOU AT SUNSET is a tender and realistic romance, filled with emotions and a dash of unexpected suspense. Holly Tyler just made a big change in her life: she’s leaving her great job in Boston for a start-up with fabulous career opportunities in NYC, when she gets a message that she is needed urgently in her hometown of Seashell Bay. Her Aunt Florence had a serious panic attack, she’s in hospital, and Florence’s sister Beatrice cannot manage Jenkins General Store alone. Holly hadn’t planned to visit Seashell Bay that year because she did not want to see Micah Lancaster. He’s an old friend, but the previous summer something changed, Holly does not see Micah the way she used to after he helped her so much when she was recuperating from an injury. Holly is convinced Micah wants to be more than friends, and she’s right. But what does she want? Her husband was a soldier, he was killed on a mission four years ago, and she still doesn’t feel ready to commit to anyone, and Micah is a police officer. Then a series of robberies shakes the small town to its core. V.K. Sykes recreates so vividly the atmosphere of a small coastal town, I felt I was a resident of Seashell Bay. Holly is plagued with indecision, and what first appeared at a short-term minor annoyance, becomes a mountain for Holly, as little things keep adding up. Micah has to be the most patient man ever; he is a hero just the way I like them: he is strong, trustworthy, and caring; he is understands Holly’s issues, he is willing to compromise, and he really listens; he’s quite a lovely man. I particularly enjoyed watching Micah do his job as a small-town cop; it felt totally authentic, whether it concerned an elderly kleptomaniac to real police work. SEE YOU AT SUNSET flows very smoothly; the writing is flawless, and the characters so clearly defined, they seem real. I was also pleasantly surprised at the mystery that is woven throughout the story, which leads to a very exciting conclusion! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
