Wow! What a great book from an awesome new writer! Breeana was offering free copies of her book in exchange for honest reviews, and I thought I would lend a hand, really hoping that I would like the book. I didn't need to worry, though, because I was drawn into the story from the first page and I couldn't stop reading until I was finished! The characters were fully fleshed out and the world building was amazing! Quinn starts following her schoolmate William around when he begins to act mysteriously and finds herself literally falling into a whole new world! Eirentheos sounds like a beautiful place, and is described very well. Thankfully, Quinn isn't the panicky type of girl, so we didn't have to read on and on about how there was no way this could be happening to her, was she going crazy, etc. She accepted where she was because she had no choice - it was real and that's all there was to it. This was definitely a refreshing viewpoint for the heroine/female MC to take! When she found out she was sort of stuck there for 10 days, she decided to embrace it and make the best of it, and to help out as much as she could. Unfortunately, during Quinn's time there, there was an outbreak of a very serious illness among the children of the kingdom. As William was one of the doctors in Eirentheos (people live a lot longer there as 10 of their days equal one of ours), Quinn traveled around the kingdom with him (and his very charming brother, Thomas) to help out. There is a nice little mystery involved in what is making the children sick. There is also a definite bad guy in the form of Tolliver, who tries to force himself on Quinn as soon as he meets her. I'm not going to say any more about that because I don't want to ruin it for you, but I will say that I can't wait to read the next installment in what is looking like a very intriguing new series from a very talented new writer :D

As I have gotten many free books, several of which were the first in a series, I expected this to be another one that I would wait till later to read the subsiquent book of. That was 4 days ago, and I've purchased and read the other 2 books that are out right now, and I can't wait till the next on is out! Frome the start, you get pulled into the characters. It's like you are really there, a part of their story. Mmany questions are left unanswered, but that is what drew me into the next books. A wonderful series!

In this story Quin Robbins is a teenager who starts noticing fellow classmate and the things he does. While spying on him she follows him what ends up being a gate to another world where she ends up having connections to. She has several adventures and misadventures and goes back and forth between the two worlds only one day in her world in Colorado ends up being 10 days in the other world and the gate is only open at dusk for a short time. This book was intriguing and fun and really made it hard to put down in order to get other things done.

Loved this series! I love it when you can read a series that keeps you interested without having to resort to sexual situations at every turn. That said, this series is extremely entertaining. I read the whole whole 4 book series and Christmas bonus in 3 days. If you enjoy realistic fantasy, read it!

Can't wait to read the next one! William andQuinn's adventure was exciting and eventful. Great story for young readers. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day ...but 498 pages is a quick read for me when the story moves as good as this one. It would make a great movie, of course with the other3 sequels. Looks like I'll be buying the rest of these!

Book one is like the start of a really good love story. Its like the getting to know the other person part of a relationship and you have to journey to the next book to get the rest if the story. Quinn is following william around but one day she finds out his secret and it taes her a world she wouldve never expected.

Not really sure what to say about this novel. It was predictable yes. It was also a little slow for me. But all in all it was a good read and I want to continue on with the rest of the series. The pace starts to pick up when she crosses over into the new world. Everything that happens in this world makes me think of what will happen next. And so far, I was right on everything, except for one point. However, the answer to this has never come up in the novels yet. When the novel finishes we are left as if it's the end of a normal chapter. It makes me wonder if all the novels are set up in this sort of fashion where it is like the start of a new chapter and the novel is really just one big one but split into three. (If that makes sense). It was a good story, I enjoyed it. There really isn't any particular reaction that comes from me about this novel. Basically, meh. Not really having read the synopsis for a while I completely forgot about what the actual novel was about and dived right in. I was surprised at the story, seeing as I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised, but in a good way. I don't know, but this book didn't really get to me as others have. It was good, but it didn't push me over the edge to get a higher rating than 3. Still an enjoyable read.

Seeds of Discovery is first novel in the Dusk Gate Chronicles. It is a charming and sweet fantasy series about a young girl who crosses over into another world. Filled with adventure, danger, mystery and a touch of romance this tale is sure to delight. The tale begins when we meet Quinn Robbins. She is a sweet kid who has reoccurring dreams about flowers and a choice. Life is good and just got better because Zander Cunningham has asked her out. Things change when she almost hits a boy as he darts across the street into a ravine. At first it frightens her until she figures out it’s a quiet boy from school. His name is William Rose and he is a total recluse. She never really noticed him before, but now she is seeing him everywhere. With her curiosity peaked she begins observing him and even stalking him. When she sees him entering the ravine again she follows him..only he seems to disappear into thin air. Determined to find out where he goes she lays in wait and watches. He seems to cross a broken bridge and then zap out of existence. Bravely she follows him and discovers a strange new world. The tale that unfolds is magical, as she enters a land with princes and princess. Here she makes friends and helps uncover clues about a mysterious illness. This was a fun, easy read that kept me entertained. The characters are unique in Puttroff’s world. I liked Quinn. She is a good kid, inquisitive and thoughtful. William seems stand-offish but the more I got to know this serious and sensitive young man, the more I liked him. Thomas is charming and his sisters were delightful. Zander is sweet and is definitely interested in Quinn. While none of the other boys declared anything, I did feel Quinn and William make a connection and look forward to seeing what develops. Thankfully no insta-love here! I loved the character Alvin and the lesson he gave Quinn touched on her dreams. There were characters I loathed ..like the evil prince Tolliver. I am looking forward to learning more about all of them. The world-building was enchanting. I loved the simplicity of the world Puttroff created and wouldn’t mine visiting there. We learned a little about the kingdom and its government. I enjoyed the naming ceremony that took place and of course the dancing. There is tension in the land, and there appear to be a few kingdoms. The history of how this occurred was fascinating. I am looking forward to returning. Aside from a few scenes the over all pace was slow, as Puttroff introduced us to the characters and world she created. Seeds of Discovery was a delightful fantasy and I look forward to reading the next books available in the series. They are Roots of Insight and Thorns of Decisions. I want to thank the author and Lightning Promotions for providing this ARC in exchange for my unbiased review.
