Seeds of Iniquity by J. A. Redmerski

From New York Times, USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author J.A. Redmerski, comes a dangerous and boundary-pushing new crime and suspense series, In the Company of Killers.

-Reading Order-

Victor Faust's new Order is growing. Business is good as there is no rest for the wicked in an underground world of hardcore criminals and contract killing. Relationships among the operatives have changed little over the past year--but things are about to change now, and all six high-ranking members of the new Order will be blindsided by an unlikely enemy.

Loved ones whose only ties to Victor's organization are their relationships with its members, are abducted. The price to get them back safely--the six must confess their deepest, darkest secret to this mysterious young woman named Nora, who is as deadly as she is beautiful, and who seems to know more about each of them than they know about each other. And although no one has any clue about who Nora really is, it becomes clear that she also isn't who she appears to be.

So much more is at stake than secrets and the lives of innocent loved ones; with each member that Nora forces to confess, the truth about their dark pasts and their present objectives will cast suspicion, pit some against each other, and may tear others apart. Before the game is over everyone will know who this woman is and why she is here, but the damage she will leave in her wake could be the beginning of the new Order's destruction. Whose dark secret will be the darkest of all? And can Victor's Order survive any of them?

About the Author

J.A. (Jessica Ann) Redmerski is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author and award-winner who juggles several different genres. She began self-publishing in 2012, and later with the success of THE EDGE OF NEVER, signed on with Grand Central Publishing/Forever Romance. She has since signed three more deals with GC/Forever for titles THE EDGE OF ALWAYS, SONG OF THE FIREFLIES and THE MOMENT OF LETTING GO. Her works have so far been translated into twenty different languages. THE EDGE OF NEVER made it to #2 on the New York Times bestseller eBook list, and remained on the #1 spot on Amazon for two straight weeks. THE EDGE OF ALWAYS also made the New York Times bestseller list.

Jessica is a hybrid author who, in addition to working with a traditional publisher, also continues to self-publish. The Portuguese rights to her popular crime and suspense series, In the Company of Killers, have already been picked up by one of the largest Brazilian publishers. KILLING SARAI, REVIVING IZABEL, THE SWAN & THE JACKAL and SEEDS OF INIQUITY are the first four books in the series, and will not be the last.

Jessica may be a multi-genre author, but no matter what she writes, she thrives on intense characters, out-of-the-ordinary love stories, and edge-of-your-seat twists that give her readers whiplash. And she weaves some, if not all of these elements into every story. She’s not afraid to anger you, offend you, make your skin crawl, or leave you in a puddle of tears.

Jessica is a lover of film, television and books that push boundaries and is a huge fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Her favorite movies are Fight Club, The Matrix and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Other things on Jessica’s wish-list are to hang out with the likes of John Noble, Bryan Cranston and Michael C. Hall, conquer her long list of ridiculous fears, find a shirt that she actually likes, and travel the world with a backpack and a partner-in-crime.

This series never lets you down, it gets better and better. The characters continue to evolve and the plot thickens and gets more and more interesting. You won't find more flawed and disturbing characters, yet you get attached to them and to a certain level you connect with them and understand their emotions. Great read!

Seeds of Iniquity is the fourth installment in author J.A. Redmerski's In the Company of Killers series. As this series artfully evolves with each installment, the characters continue to evolve as well. Seeds of Iniquity presented a great opportunity for Ms. Redmerski to re-introduce (in a sense) each existing character while the reader gets caught up on how this “family” has changed- individually as well as a team. A new character is introduced in this book and to say that she stirs the pot is an extreme understatement. Did said pot need to be stirred? …Possibly. But now I don’t feel comfortable with the security of any of the characters’ relationships at this point, whether it be partners, friends, brothers, or lovers. In the end, Seeds of Iniquity leaves the reader somewhat prepared for the overall plot in the next installment, but I foresee some side stories/subplots focusing on relationship issues within this group, as well as possible changes to the organization in general. I love this series, hands down, no complaints. I only gave Seeds of Iniquity 4 stars because it felt like a pit stop versus a series continuation. But pit stops are incredibly important! If Ms. Redmerski's goal was to replenish her readers’ investment in her characters and create some renewed interest in future installments, then she met her goal, and added an incredibly engaging book to the series in the process.

It wasn’t bad for the 4th installment. Minor spoilers alert!!! I think The Swan and the Jackal (In the Company of Killers #3) was so amazing that any immediate sequel would have a hard time matching its greatness. Nora as an instrument of conflict, while clever, failed to interest me much. I understood her role, but I felt indifferent to her back story and her motivation the entire novel. Overall, discovering the secrets of the returning members of Victor’s new organization was interesting, Niklas's secret being the most interesting of all. I look forward to seeing what future role Dorian, Niklas and Fredrik will play. Up next in this series is The Black Wolf (In the Company of Killers #5).
