Coffee shop barista (and part time treemaker) Kit Melbourne's life turns upside down when her tea-leaf reading brother predicts that someone will rob her, break her heart, and oh yeah, murder her.
Kit suspects it has something to do with the priceless jewel she inherited from their infamous witch uncle. As the jewel's powers begin to reveal the secret, supernatural side of the town of Seabingen, Kit realizes she has to uncover the mysteries of her uncle's past, to find out which of his many enemies wants the jewel badly enough to kill for it.

This is a good book just kind of different, you think this it just a normal story when then it turns into a fantesy type. I want to read the next book to see how things continue...

Action, mystery, adventure and romance all rolled into one. Bought the next two in the series, cannot wait to read them.

In the first of a trilogy, the protagonist Kit Melbourne has her tea leaves read and the following are predicted, you will be robbed, your heart will be broken and someone will try to kill you. Kit quickly learns that the priceless jewel she inherited from her late uncle the witch, allows her to see the supernatural side of Seabingen. The first half of the book was rather slow, but the second half pics up speed.

A bit uneven at first, but the author's voice started to come through at about the middle. I just devoured Treemaker in one sitting and immediately bought Dayrunner.

I started reading on a Saturday morning... couldn't put my nook down! Well written, relatable characters. Just bummed only the first three Seabingen novels are available.
