Reviewed by Ray Simmons for Readers' Favorite I remember the day I first realized that there is a word for people like me who seem to always be looking for something, but have no idea exactly what it is. I was in the offices of a Catholic priest in a mid-sized town in Pennsylvania. I was thinking about converting from Southern Baptist to Catholic because I knew the roots and history were older and deeper. I also liked the formal ritualism of Catholicism. We were talking and I was trying to explain why I wanted to convert, and some of the things I had already tried before I wound up in his office. He said, “Ah! So you are a seeker.” And in that instant, I knew that there was a word for people like me, and that maybe there are a lot of us. That is why I read Seekers: Finding Our Way Home by Paul Dunion. I want to know more about who I am and what I have been looking for all my life. He gave me a lot of those answers. Seekers gave me answers and it explained what I was looking for in ways I had never thought to consider. We live in confusing and complicated times, and sometimes we need a guide to help us sort through the choices and refine our decision-making process. Seekers is such a guide and Paul Dunion explains the phenomenon of being a Seeker and how we can resolve this unending inner issue very well. I am going to go out on a limb and say he is probably a great teacher. The book is clear, straightforward, and very direct about some issues that are sometimes hard to grasp. It is well organized and well written, and will be useful to others like me who still haven’t found what they are looking for.
