This book had such great reviews, but I found it lacking..this book would of had so much potential if it would of had some love scenes...hence ..that is why they call it a romance book...It didn't need to be described into great detail but something better than him kissing her then......he regrets it and oh wait.....she is pregnant....I'm like she gets pregnant from a kiss...also he wakes up after raping his cousin and was screwed up and doesn't remember....Couse he is a drunk and hooked on opium...I think my he auther could have dealt with this issue's..but they were not really mentioned and I didn't feel there emotions..they had none..also she is forced to give up her kid and sleep with her uncle( I mean he did loosen his cravet) so I assume she slept with him....but yet once again that was not talked about pretty much getting raped by your uncle...once again no emotions...if you're looking for a book just to read without passion, feeling or any emotions than this book is for you....

A second chance! I loved Elizabeth Johns's previous books in the Loring-Abbott series! So, I needed to go and grab SEEKING REDEMPTION: Traditional Regency Romance! Ms. Johns has done it again. She wrote a delightful love story filled with hope, forgiveness and passion! It's also a story of redemption! I loved the chemistry between Lydia and Nathaniel, both shared a strong connection! Lady Lydia Markham, was a naïve and beautiful young woman, but as soon as she meets Nathaniel, Lord Fairmont, her world will forever change! She loved him so much, she thought that he would propose, but instead, he left her to join the army. He was a man who loved to live a lavish lifestyle, women, alcohol, opium. Left, alone and under the care of her uncle, Lydia will try to survive with her secret! Six years, have passed, Nathaniel comes home, back from war, unfortunately, he feels unworthy of her. But, Lydia, who is hiding her secret, is a headstrong, determine and smart woman, who will do anything to get him back, even follow him on the battlefield. Nathaniel will seek redemption for the women he hurt in his past. When Lydia, looses hope, destiny will offer her a second chance! Will she forgive him, love him again and share her secret with him? This Regency story was very well written and I recommend it!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. (I will not give away spoilers...I will not give away spoilers). Nathaniel Chalcroft, Lord Fairmont, is returning to London after 6 years serving in the military to defeat Napoleon. Six years in which he learned to deal with his destructive addictions, accepted his despicable actions of the past, learned to be a better man than he was when he shipped out. He did not believe forgiveness or a second chance at happiness was in his future, so much so that he tempted Fate and the Devil himself with every engagement on the battlefield. For if he died in the fighting, it would be no less than he deserved. Lady Lydia Markham used to be a naive bluestocking who loved then lost the man of her dreams. After 6 years of trying and failing to make a successful match, she vows to make a life for herself now that she's reached her majority. But seeing Nathaniel again, resurrects all those feelings of love she thought she'd long buried. She still wants him but more importantly needs him if she is to succeed with her plan. Could it be that the reason she failed to find another love was because she was destined to be with Nathaniel and that their time together had finally come? I read this straight through. Having read the first two books in the series, I had to find out if Ms. Johns could find a way for me to like this hero given his past. She not only made me like him but I loved who he had worked so hard to become by the end. The characters are well developed and their emotional vulnerability comes through where you feel for them and their circumstances and route for their happy ending. The only spoiler I offer up is that it was nice to see many of the characters from the previous two stories make an appearance again.  I CAN NOT wait for the next in the series! Kudos, Ms. Johns!

Seeking Redemption by Elizabeth Johns Orphaned at a young age, Lady Lydia Markham has been locked away in the country most of her life and has become somewhat of a bluestocking. At nineteen, her aunt suddenly remembers her niece and decides to give her a London Season. Only one man catches her eyes, if only she could catch his. Nathaniel, Lord Fairmont future Duke of Loring, has built quite a reputation for himself. He lives his life on the wild side and has no plans of slowing down anytime soon, although Lady Lydia has him considering it. And then one night he does something that changes everything. His father buys him a commission and he heads out to war. Nathaniel has no idea what he has left in the wake of his careless living. Have tissues nearby if you get caught up in stories. I highly suggest reading the first two books in this series; Surrender the Past and Season's of Change. An enjoyable series with some real life hardships of what it was like during the war times and of course, love isn't always pretty either.

Very well written as usual. It's amazing to see the repairs in this family from a horrendous crime forgiven in the first book to the scarlett sins made white and wiped out as though they'd never happened in the family relationships here. Which is as it should be with true repentance, yet is hard to convincingly imagine as well as do. I love the repairs of character in this book, as with the Duchess, and the mis/understanding of perspectives, as with Lydia. This book deals with the most physically traumatic and wrong actions and events, clearly indicating what has happened, yet it is not obscene or deeply distressing. Great series. I look forward to the next centering on Andrew as he has appeared the most of any character and yet we don't know much beyod the surface.
