Loved Isla and Levi. Loved the characters in this town. Great read.

At a 167 nook pages it was filled with action, major conflict, suspense, steamy loving, and some mystery. I liked the characters, and the story line was great. *Warning....It does hit on some emotional and physical abuse scene(s) so if that is something difficult for you to read about, this book may not be for you. (The author does mention this at begining of book and puts information to finding help....)****

ooray for Isla! She’s had a lonesome life but Cole comes along. But it’s not all hearts and roses and after he hits her she plans to leave. Just before she’s going to leave she finds out she’s pregnant and now her schedule moves up. She doesn’t quite make it in time and she takes another beating before running out. She drives from Florida to Colorado where she finds a nice small town, a job and Levi. She’s not sure if she’s actually found Sanctuary or if she should keep running but she’s alone and pregnant. Loved the story. It took great determination to leave when she did. She had nowhere to go and is pregnant. She also looks like she’s been badly beaten but everyone in town is so nice. We know Isla is strong—she’s had to be but she learns to accept help and doesnt wimp out as soon as someone tries to help her. Levi was a gem and the people in town were full blown characters in the story but only added to it. Main characters were “real” and consistent. Highly recommended. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

I loved Isla. She’s a fighter. A woman both brave and strong. She is a survivor. Her story is very sad and ugly at times but it was also beautiful and full of love and hope. Seeking Sanctuary was definitely a very emotional book. I had to keep my tissue box close while reading this one. I would absolutely recommend reading this one.

FEEL THE NEED FOR SPEED!!! Talk about going down a beaten path. This is one exciting, smooth flowing read that hits home harder than you'd think. No holds barred in this baby. You get all the action, drama and bone chilling suspense that will definitely keep you on your toes. The characters are intriguing, complex and realistic. Their personalities played off one another in a perfect balance that's as awe inspiring as the strenght and depth of the characters. The scenes are so vividly detailed and descriptive that it paints a very believable backdrop. Twists and turns abound as well as danger and suspense that keep your total focus in this page turning tale. Annie did a remarkable job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Great job Annie, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

Annie Anderson is one of my favorite authors, but when I heard that she was writing a romance book without any supernatural/paranormal aspects, I was a little skeptical. But, since I love her writing so much, I decided to give it a chance. I am so very glad that I didn't let the genre stop me from reading this wonderful book! Ms. Anderson's writing is wonderful (as always) and the emotions just never stop! Isla is in an abusive relationship with a rich man named Cole. When he learns that she is pregnant, the abuse becomes too much for her to stand. Isla leaves Florida for parts unknown and winds up in the small town of Evergreen, Colorado. Little does she know that her life is about to change for the better! Levi Grady owns the local garage and is in desperate need of a good bookkeeper. Isla is great with numbers (just not with people), so she takes the job. Sparks fly as their relationship grows. Will Isla be able to forget her past and get the happily ever after she deserves? Or, is she destined to live in fear of her past? This book delves into the delicate subject of Domestic Violence/Abuse in a way that will stir up your emotions. And, Ms. Anderson outlines a lot of places that someone involved in an abusive relationship can get the help they need. I loved that Isla was strong enough to take charge of her life and get out of a horrible situation. It gives anyone hope that things can change for the better, no matter how bad their circumstances might seem. There is plenty of foul language (just what Annie's readers have come to expect!) and loads and loads of steamy sex (a must have!). But, there is also a lot of pathos, heavy emotions and love. The characters are well-developed, the story moves at a fast pace and there are enough twists to keep it fresh. I have learned that when I read a book by Ms. Anderson, I have to set aside enough time to read it in one sitting. Her writing is so good that I just can't put it down once I'm involved in the story! I had the opportunity to read an ARC of this book, but that in no way affects my review of it.
