This is book 6 in the True Blue K-9 Unit series. I read this out of order after finishing just the first 3 beforehand. This book was given to me by the author but the review was not required. The opinions are my own. This book was great. I was glad to have read at least the first book of the series beforehand so I understood the overall mysteries about Jordan and Snapper. However, the book is so well written that I think I would have enjoyed it just as much if I hadn't. There is one point where what happens in an earlier book is mentioned. Although I basically now know some things about that book, I still want to read the entire series at some point. I enjoyed how Terri Reed developed the characters and their backstories. I wish I knew more about Rachelle's family but it was because I truly liked the characters not because I needed more background. Terri Reed's writing is so descriptive that I can imagine what the characters, events, and settings looked like. Carter's daughter Ellie was a delight. Frosty was a very brave K-9. I think this is my favorite book of the series so far.
"Seeking the Truth" by Terri Reed is a great book; the 6th in the True Blue K-9 unit series. Ms Reed demonstrates once again, she is a master of the genre. She also knows NYC pretty well, too. The continued search for former K-9 chief, Jordan Jameson is taken up by an aspiring small time newspaper reporter, Rachelle Clark. She has all the instincts and moves of an up-and-coming reporter, but with a good, sympathetic heart. K-9 unit officer Carter Jameson is assigned to protect Rachelle after her investigations get too close for the bad guys who want her dead. The author brings in past characters of the series, showing the comradery of the K-9 unit, and the closeness of the Jameson family. This book also expands on the parents of the Jameson brothers, Alex and Ivy. To protect Rachelle, Carter brings her to his parents home, where he, his young daughter Ellie, and another brother live. Rachelle must overcome the suspicions her hosts naturally have for reporters. Ms Reed plays this tension expertly. This is a well written book. The action moves right along, and the love that begins building between Carter, Rachelle and Ellie, as well as Carter's extended family is delightful. This book is a great read, and faithful to the direction of the series.
