Doranna Durgin is a new favorite with me. This book was surprisingly good! It kept me up late last night finishing it. The Seer is different...exciting...and, well just alot going on. I was getting so tired of the same vampire/werewolf/fairie/ghosts stories. We really need this refreshing twist on the paranormal. Very happy. Highly recommend. DM

Seer's Blood instantly draws you into a fabulously imagined Appalachia that might have been. The cadence and textures of the setting are wonderfully evocative, and a vast relief from over-done traditional fantasy settings. The magic is perfectly done, neither too encompassing, nor too rare. But the best part are the well drawn characters and the fascinating problems that they encounter.

Seer's Blood by Doranna Durgin is a wonderful, magical story set in the Appalachian region. Durgin is great in making you feel as if you are really there with the atmosphere and the dialogue. The story is about Annektah who intend to steal the magic from the mountains and the land, and use the people. Killing the people as necessary. Dacey, who has some seer blood, goes to warn the community they are coming. Blaine ends up helping him and and she too has seer's blood. The story is fast, intriguing, has well developed characters, full of twists, danger, magic, fantasy, and a touch of romance. Well thought out book. This is the first book I have read by her but it won't be the last. I won this book on LibraryThing and I am so glad I did!

Seers Blood was slow to start but quickly became very interesting. I really can't say alot without giving away the story but can say that I fell totally in love with Dacey and Blaine's companions. Thank you Library Thing for giving me the opportunity to read this book. I am looking forward to hanging out with Dacey and Blaine again.
