I will be honest...though I love Seth, I was not sure I was going to like his story. It did take me a chapter or two to get in to it, but I did and I really enjoyed it! I like Seth's humor and his wife Anastasia, though a pain, is perfectly suited to him. I say pain because she tries to put him off longer than necessary. I like the interaction with the other cyborgs too. I think that is important so you don't forget their stories and their new mates. I can't wait to read the next one!

Langlais’ seamless writing allows her innate skill as a novelist to shine through. Her world building never ceases while at the same time she develops an intricate and intimate plot that is both entertaining and thought provoking. The various aspects of the story all tie together while also providing a large backdrop for readers to immerse themselves in. The combination of comical, snarky moments with suspenseful ones means that you’ll never be bored. Ok, I’ve got to say it. I absolutely love the name of the cyborgs’ ship. It cracks me up every time I read it. The in-depth look at Seth’s background not only brings his personality and more human characteristics into focus, it also shows how cyborgs came into being, or at least how individual ones were made. The technology and process behind it was quite fascinating. It also brings the glaring difference between the spy model cyborgs and everyone else into sharp focus. Not only that, but experiencing Seth & Anastasia’s combined and separate pasts put their current relationship into perspective. I love the way that they competed with and bated one another, while also putting their lives on the line to protect each other. Their relationship was fantastic and kept me engaged throughout. Langlais sets this novel up so that it could potentially be read as a standalone, briefly filling in the key points of who’s who & what’s what, but for full enjoyment I’d recommend reading the full series in order. The way that this novel overlaps and intertwines with Aramus’ story really enhanced my enjoyment. I really like how each novel in the series builds on the previous one, while also standing on its own.

After reading the great reviews I thought "hey maybe this can actually do reconcilliation correctly". Instead I got the same ol' same ol' i'm sick of the make character sleeping around and the female onplaying abstinence for all that time. Women write these novels so why do we end up as the losers.e

Eve Langlais wrote this one with a bit of a different style. We are taken back in time to Seth's creation as a cyborg several times throughout the story. While Eve did a fantastic job with the time transition, it just isn't a big favorite of mine to have it broken up as much as she did. She did an excellent job of making sure I knew if I was in the past or present, and both parts of Seth's story were very very interesting. Seth is the most human of the cyborgs - programmed as a spy model he needed to be able to blend in with humanity to get the job done. This makes him very unique amongst the cyborg men (and women) we have met so far. He's incredibly obnoxious (on purpose) and likes to push peoples buttons. But when push comes to shove he's amazingly loyal to those he cares about - yes he readily admits he cares and it drives Aramus nuts. Anastasia is also a spy model - she's acutally Seth's ex-partner. Things blew up in a really bad way and she's hated him ever since. But she needs him for her mission and is willing to put up with his crap and attitude if it will help get the job done. She's more machine-like than Seth is and much more mission-oriented as well. I loved watching the two of the bicker. This is a dialog type that Eve Langlais has mastered. It flows so naturally and makes the characters so much more fun to read. The two pats of the story are woven together nicely - as I said earlier, it's just not really the style I prefer to read. What Eve reveals about their past has a direct effect on their present relationship. It was brilliant the way it all seemed to weave together to form a really cohesive history and story for these two. This doesn't seem to be the last of Eve's Cyborgs as a new mission is decided on near the end that has a lot of potential for drama and, or course, love.

~Reviewed by SUZANNE & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog The last time he saw Anastasia she was going to kill him, now she has come to Seth for his help. And how can he refuse her? She is his wife after all. Jealousy and manipulation by the military destroyed their marriage last time, but could this be Seth’s opportunity to get back the woman he has never stopped loving? Or will they once again be ripped apart? I am a sucker from some sci-fi romance, add in aliens or cyborgs and I am in cloud nine. So Seth was exactly what I love, it was full of action, laughs and some deliciously hot love scenes, it’s official you can mail me C/O Cloud Nine. However, this was book five of Eve Langlais’ Cyborgs: More than Machines series, and I only wish that I had read it is some kind of order, it references characters and events that I know very little about as I have only read the first book. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying the central love story, and I got the jist, military; baddies, cyborgs; goodies. It has inspired me though to fill in the gaps and read the rest of the series in preparation for the next book. What I liked about Seth, apart from the sex scenes of course, was that I had a holiday from dark broody heroes and instead had Seth, he was funny and irreverent, and although he had his darker moments, it was great to read a hero that would crack a smile. Especially when we had a broody heroine to contend with, it was nice to switch the roles round. I am also not normally a fan of rekindled romance, but, I didn’t find this issue, especially as we got flash backs to the past and watch as they fell in love to begin with. I really enjoyed this book, it was funny, sexy and entertaining, I will definitely be reading the next book, as soon as I have finished catching up on the books I have missed! *ARC provided by publisher

Hey, I don’t do cyborg, okay? Hold on, but I loved Seth! Funny. Charming. Fast-paced (!!). I think Eve Langlais has turned me! Whodathunkit? First off, whatever the subject matter, Seth is well written – no question.  And speaking of Seth, he is handsome, strong (duh, he’s a cyborg), moral, heroic, and funny as the day is long. The love of his life, wife, and for years now, ex, Anastasia, is also a cyborg, and she needs him – just not in the way he hopes for.  The story is a fun sci-fi romp through space and relationships, with a mystery and a touch of deeper meaning that gives one pause. I thoroughly enjoyed Seth, regardless of my do’s and don’ts. Well done. A complimentary copy provided by author/publisher for an honest review.

‘Seth’ is the fifth book in the Cyborgs: More Than Machines series by Eve Langlais. Seth, the hero of this book, was first introduced in Book 1 of the series, and he is a major character in Books 2 through 4, as well. He has a happy-go-lucky, carefree outlook and loves to play practical jokes on his cyborg brethren.  Seth has been one of my favorite characters throughout the first four books, and I’ve been eagerly waiting for his story to be told. Ms. Langlais went above and beyond my expectations for Seth. Not only did she finish developing his character and provide him with a fabulous background, she also showed his true personality. And while I would probably want to smack him around a little bit myself (like most of his brethren want to do a good bit of the time), I also fell a little in love with his character.  The heroine in this story, Anastasia, is the perfect counterpart for Seth. She is strong-willed, fierce and highly intelligent, which is a good thing considering that she is Seth’s wife. And as the two of them go off on a mission, we learn about their past together.  When all is said and done after the various situations the MCs have to overcome, Ms. Langlais gives a tiny tease about the next segment of the series. Darn it! I want to read it now!  I love this series, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the sci-fi/romance genre. These books make you wonder, ‘what if?’...

The Cyborgs:More than Machines sci-fi series continues to excite in this fifth installment that nicely blends the past and present to show the compelling relationship between Anastasia and Seth as they go from being regular soldiers to enhanced ones. As the government takes over their bodies and lives their fledgling relationship is over before it barely began as the cyborg soldiers now fight back to regain their right to life in a war that's just beginning. Seth finally has his story told in this fast-paced and intriguing read that shows a man who never lost him humanity and love for the only woman to ever hold his heart no matter how many implants or genetic manipulations the government has done. Throughout everything Seth kept his charming ways and sensual nature as he was reunited with Anastasia in a daring plan to save even more cyborgs and bring down those who committed the crimes against them in the first place. Everything Seth has done since first seeing Anastasia has been to stay by her side. He became a cyborg to remain in the program with her and sacrificed his body repeatedly to keep her safe and I found that loyalty and devotion extremely admirable. His interactions with her were full of sexual tension as he took every opportunity to remind her of why they needed to reunite in numerous playful and steamy sexual interludes. Seth was a larger than life character who completely won me over and who made every scene better, whether it be a romantic one or one involving the brotherly banter between him and the other male cyborgs. Anastasia entered into the cyborg program as she was tired of being second best. The strength the enhancements gave her was intoxicating, but as she was manipulated further by the government, the relationship she had with Seth imploded. She needs him now though and as usual he's there for her as she's totally focused on her plan to bring the scientists down. Throughout it all she continues to fight the feelings that never truly left which left me frustrated with her as she uses Seth yet again. She never seemed as fully invested as Seth in their coupledom which was disappointing as he was such a delightful hero. She redeems herself somewhat as her plan comes to a quickly wrapped-up conclusion but even then his sacrifices far outweigh hers. Ms. Langlais' sci-fi series continues to entertain as the outcome becomes more imperative to the cyborg's survival. The scientists have even more nefarious plans that will radically change not only the cyborg's lives but all humans. It's a constant struggle in this fast-paced and unique series full of compelling characters and is one that fans of sci-fi will definitely want to read. Seth is an entertaining read with a to die for hero and I look forward to the next release!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I have not read any of Eve's books before this one and while there are more of these in this series, I did not feel as though I was missing out on anything. What I mean by this is that her recap of the happenings so far was really well written and I didn't feel like I had come into the middle of a story. I was told this could be read as a stand-alone and that is exactly true. However, I will be going back and reading the rest of the series. I loved Seth and Anastasia's relationship and interactions. Seth is witty, sarcastic, handsome and frustrating all at the same time. But you can tell that what he does, he does because of his deep love for Anastasia. Anastasia on the other hand, has one goal in mind and will do anything to accomplish that goal, even if it means leading Seth on. I loved the banter between these two characters and Seth's overall sarcasm and witty comebacks. He is a very likeable character. I got into this story very easily and did not feel as though the sexy bits were too overdone or over the top. I highly recommend this book and this series.

Who doesn't love a hot, spy cyborg?  Another wonderful book from Eve Langlais.  Great mix of romance, humor and intrigue.  If you haven't read this series you are missing out.  I was late jumping on the cyborg train even though I love all of  this author's other books (hot shifters, crazy witches and a hilarious devil).  But once I started the series I was hooked.  I am very excited to see where this series will take us next.

Another very good EL book, I have read most of her books and loved them all good plot and made me laugh out loud a couple of times and the teaser at the end for the next cyborg book in the series is a big wow can't wait sounds like another winner

I swear I was humming the James Bond theme during parts of this story, and giggling the rest. Seth was an awesome blend of jokester, spy master and hot hero, not to mention super cyborg. Lots of story line in this one with a fabulous glimpse at their origin and a teaser of things to come. Please say Avion is next!
