Just as its getting really good it comes to an abrupt halt. You can read the first chapter of next book. Which I suggest you have before reading this. Or you will be as I was....Are you kidding me...#$%& Talk about season finale..I understand author wanting you to get the next book but finish one to stand on its own please.!

Is there more to this book than the 115 pages I was sent? This is a great beginning, but where's the rest?

Loved it! But only like half a book! Now about to investigate if there's a conclusion and how much that will cost me now that I'm hooked!

This is only really a SAMPLE. 115 pages and then you must buy the rest of the book in installments. Story comes to an abrupt end. Very dissapointed and will not bother to try to finish the book and will probbly not buy anything else from this author

Didn't realize it wasn't the complete novel, but I was suspicious when the length was 112 pages. While the novel is moderately interesting, I won't purchase any more.

I like her writing and would have looked for other books by her. BUT won't be doing so due to this is one of those hook books - have to buy another and another to find the ending.

Don't bother

I rated this as below average because the reader has to purchase 2 more books in order to find out what could have been related in just one. That was completely unnecessary and, considering at least one reviewer spoilt the plot in book #2's review, I find I am neither motivated nor curious enough to buy and read the other 2 books - even the Nook ones. Cheap tactic to get people to buy books. It's a decently written romance-type "series" (though not structured like a series, each book just abruptly ends) with a protagonist who is very unobservant for someone who makes a living cataloguing antiques. When she stumbles across any weird situations or conversations, she does nothing about them. Consequently she - and the reader - doesn't have any idea who to trust. The male lead character could be taken from any one of millions of romance novels. It's just not different enough to bother with.

I would have given this book 5 stars but it isn't a book, it's an excerpt with no opportunity to read the rest of it and ONCE AGAIN absolutely no warning by Barnes and Noble.

Would have been great if it was a whole book or at least a stand alone story. Very disappointing

I liked the read. It's a series. I don't like series with a cliffhanger. I definitely don't like cliffhangers unless I actually have all books of the series. Reader beware, I have not seen the other books in the nook store. Simone24

I really enjoyed this book but it was too short, felt incomplete. And I searched for the next book in the series and couldn't find it.

I have just spent a marvelous few hours reading this wonderful mystery about antebellum Mobile Alabama. Carrie Jo has a secret: she's a "dream catcher" she dreams about real people in the real past. And now, she's been hired by Ashland Stewart, the last remaining connection to the Cottonwood family, to restore the Seven Sisters as a living museum. Will mystery catch up with her here? That's a goid question because this small book seems to be the beginning if a much karger work hopefully we can find online soon. Romantic, mysterious, Southern historical fiction...what more could we want?

I enjoyed it, but thought it incomplete. I though my ebook had somehow skipped ahead to the end, which did not really seem like an end. I did enjoy the storytelling.

I would have rated this higher except I can't find the rest of the series. The books that come up under other series have different authors.

There are a total of 6 books in this series so I'm wondering why you only carry the first book?

Wish I'd read the reviews first. What was the potential for an amazing and fabulous story (one story), the author has turned in to 3 individual, incomplete "books." A bad marketing technique to "hook" the reader unaware by offering the first "book" for free, which is in actuality the first third of one book. To finish the story, one must purchase at least two additional books. I just wanted to inform the author (if this is even read by them) that they just lost a potential fan and buyer for their other novels, and that I will not be purchasing the other two books. Sure, I'd love to read the complete novel, but it's the priniple of the matter, for me. I am an avid reader and there are too many good, independant authors out there to waste my time on one who simply comes across as greedy.

For some reason I just couldn't relate to this story....it seemed boring to me...did not finish it.

I agree with all the other reviewers. What the heck write a book that stands by itself. I hate to read so far and no ending, and no i wont buy the next book because it doesnt ha ve an ending either!

I knew something was amiss when I discovered the book was 113 pages and almost halfway through it there wasnt any climax. Not surprisingly it just stopped dead in the middle of a very interesting plot twist. I was disappointed. This wasnt even a sample of the book, it was the book. It forces you to purchase the next novel if you really wanted to know what happened but I feel conned. I feel like i should have been able to read an ENTIRE book before purchasing another in the series. So im conflicted as to what I will do. The next book is definitely affordable but I have principals lol. Honestly. A bait and hook book. The story was very interesting. I like the main character, im curious sbout whats going on and like the originality of her "special power". Dont read unless you like cliff hangers or mind being forced into a series.

The part that was available was somewhat interesting, but I'm not impressed with how the author attempted to hook the reader to buy the next book. It wasn't even that exciting of a hook and this is coming from a person who has purchased entire series after reading a free book. If I were more invested in the characters or if something more intense had happened in the hook, I would have bought the next one. The main reason why I rated the book is the length of the book and the timing of the hook in the events of the story.

Not a stand alone book & no warning that it's not.

While the idea behind this book is intriguing, like everyone else, I wished for more than a sampling. Very disappointed. I will not buy the next book because this feels too much like a greedy scam.

Would be nice if the next installment were available.

Good things this section was free. It has always been my understanding that a book had a beginning, a middle and an end. This has a nice beginning, but you have to pay for each additional section. If a writer wants to sell books, then they should develop characters who have their own story. Even though a good beginning, will not purchase because cannot be sure to get the middle and an end in the next book or even the next one.
