Moyes teaches beginning sewing classes at The Sewing Workshop in San Francisco, and this book is designed to make much of the content of her workshops available to the beginning sewer learning at home. In fact, the last chapter--"Making a Kimono in Five Easy Lessons"--duplicates one of her five-session beginning sewing classes. All instruction is project-oriented, as the reader moves from pull-on pants and skirts to T-shirt, tops, and vests to easy blouses and jackets. Without including an overwhelming amount of detail, Moyes covers each step of the garment-making process, using color photographs and line drawings to advantage. An excellent choice for public libraries and sewing collections. Copyright 1999 Cahners Business Information.
