This book provides excellent instructions on how to adapt patterns if you are a plus sized woman. It also shows how to make an inexpensive model of your upper body.

I checked this book out at the library and was so excited with the help I got from how to change patterns to fit "ME" I had to have it in my library.

Informative, enjoyable, some humor also. I will feel confident to sew something that will fit for ME. This is a great book.

I have been sewing for more than twenty years. Everything I sew for my family always fits them, but when I sew for myself, the pattern has to be enlarged to fit. For years, I have made my own clothes, since it is much less expensive to purchase fabric and sew than it is to shop in full figured fashion shops. A blouse that would cost me $18 for my daughter would cost me $60 simply because I am larger and have to shop in specialty shops. (Though there isn't more than a yard of difference in the amount of fabric.) Now, after reading "Sewing For Plus Sizes," I can make my clothes fit right, not just make them bigger by adding inches on the side seams. I won't have to avoid princess seamed blouses and dresses. Now I know how to make them fit! This is the book I have been needing and waiting for since I first began sewing. I was so excited, I read the entire book in one sitting. I highly recommend "Sewing for Plus Sizes" to anyone who has trouble fitting into standard sewing patterns.
