Reviewed by Kathryn Bennett for Readers' Favorite Sex God: An Erotic Adventure of Self Discovery by Matthew Armstrong introduces us to Alex Sterling, who has a marriage and a life that is just not as fulfilling as he had hoped it would be. That is when he decides to suggest to his wife Angela they do something one might consider improper. The journey that happens next is one of dark passions and even darker places. Alex finds himself about to lose everything, including his mind. This is an erotic book that borders on erotica but does not quite cross the line. There is a lot going on, not the least of which is what Alex asks his wife to do. While I myself could never do this, I can see why Alex - in the place that he finds himself in his life - would want to. Matthew Armstrong has written a hot and complex book that has a lot of layers, even if it uses the hotter scenes as the vehicle to drive everything. It is interesting to read a book with sizzling content written by a man and mostly from a man's point of view, not usually how it goes. At the end of the day, however, this is a very good read, a page turner that kept me interested. If you are looking for something hot and steamy with a firm core to go with it, this will be the book for you. Make it your summer read and make sure you have a cool drink!
I was asked to read this book and I had my reservation as it does deal with a extramarital sex. But unlike an affair they discuss it and decide to have an open marriage. I could see it coming when he was not as into it as his wife was. He actually ends up not wanting to sleep with other people but she has found someone else. I could see this imploding on him and ultimately the end id divorce. I was so happy with the ending of this book. I will not tell you what happened as they both embark on a journey of self awareness and learn to love one another again. It may not have been my way to handle this life decision. I would love to have a follow up book on the couple and see her husband finally give her the one thing she has never been able to achieve during sex. that would have been nice to know. maybe the writer will write another book. I certainly hope he dose, this book is so well written that I literally felt my own heart hurt for him when she did what she did to him. Then when her car broke down, and he ran after to help her and set her to a therapist to calm her. It felt like god had intervened. It just show how much passion the writer put into the book to make you feel they way the characters were.I hope you enjoy this book as Much as I did. I started reading this book with a very open mind and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Alex loves his wife but doesn't love his sex life. He suggests an open marriage arrangement to his his wife and is quite surprised and a little unsettled with her agreement. I loved the story set-up. The title of the book is perfect and Alex was such a realistic character, very relatable and very vulnerable. Overall, I found this to be a great transformational story. It certainly starts out in the category of be careful what you wish for and it doesn't disappoint from there. It's well-written and the erotic scenes are excellent.
