About the Author

Kris is a former copywriter and PR mercenary, who after some coaxing, began writing romance novels. She loves alliteration, pearls and post-it notes. She's married to the man of her dreams, who just happens to be a fabulously talented composer. They live in the South where he scores her crazy and completely out-of-the-box life. She's Momma to two kids, now in college - one at the University of Kentucky, and one at New York University-Tisch. She is also responsible for one very needy dog. When she's not writing, she's baking cupcakes.

While the plot was good there's some stereotyping of characters. Beautiful heroine? Check. Handsome, well-to-do hero? Check. Smarmy, sweaty boss of heroine? Check. Obnoxious secretary foil? Check. The differences come with being widowed mother, an FBI agent, fraud and blackmail. While an enjoyable idea the author loses marks for all together too many f-bombs coming in everyday conversations. It distracts from the characters and interferes with the reader who tries to avoid and rephrase. While it isn't technically a cliffhanger the author leaves some things unresolved to write another novel.

Thank you so much for a lovely story. Being a southern girl I ejoyed your gentleman. I however didn't enjoy the many curse words that did little to enhance the story line. Mac was such a wonderful gentle man that it detracted from my love of him. However no one is perfect. Ms. Celia was however the most wonderful and perfect family member. Her use of the term 'baby' was better used than when Mac used it. Every one needs a Ms. Celia, and a glass of sweet tea! With all of that said I am looking forward to reading book two! I think that Polly will be a wonderful challenge for Dr. King.

Loved the story. So glad lead female wasnt whiny and needy like so many books these days. And absolutely loved Mimi. And Nancy, bless her heart.

Good story but how can a former copyright have so many punctuation errors in her own book? Mind blowing.

The bad language wasn't an issue for me as it seemed to be for for other reviewers. I didn't think there was a lot of it. My biggest problem was that I didn't/couldn't relate to any of the characters and the storyline was super farfetched. I did like Miss Celia and Mimi, they felt the most genuine. I thought having a female widow and a sterile male was unique and interesting. I'd also be lying if I said I didn't shed some tears. Ultimately, I just really didn't care for anything about this book and ended up skimming a majority of it.

Not very original. In fact she took one line straight from the 50 Shades Of Grey. In fact it felt a lot like that but more PG. The general outline of it anyway. It was very rushed as well. It's okay if you are just looking to pass the time.

Good mix of romance and suspense.

The mystery is simplistic. The pacing of the story is erratic & inconsistent. The action bits read more like afterthoughts than they do deliberate sequences. The slower bits are often too slow-- bogged down in superfluous detail and repetition of facts. I wasn't really drawn to any of the characters. They felt depthless and left me feeling ambivalent towards them. The very anticlimactic climax is a cliffhanger in name only.

I didn't expect great literature here... but this was the absolute cheesiest and most cliched book i have ever read. There is not an original idea in this story. They got busy on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace for cryin' out loud! The "mystery" doesn't kick in until at least halfway through. Semi-cliffhanger ending, too. Barf. ?...wjj

I first got the book purely on the title words sweet tea. I was delighted to find it full of southern charm, laughter, suspense, and love all rolled up into one delightful book. I have already suggested it to several friends and my sisters. It's a cliff hanger ending that will leave you wanting to immediately start the next one. A great read.

A southerner by birth, I loved this book. It was fun and witty and took me back to times with my southern family.

I'm not a big fan of romance novels but I enjoyed this one. Not a lot of sex scenes which I liked even though the undercurrent was always there. Would have liked closure on Hector, felt the story wasn't finished.
