Sex & the Sober Alcoholic
When people hear about 'sex & alcoholism' --- it's usually about "sex addicts''.
But they are not "the norm''. Most sex addicts are really on the fringe...... people who lose jobs because they commit sexual crimes... who spend their lunch hours stalking strange women..........

But, what about the 'average Joe' who's an alcoholic, who was molested as a child, and who can't talk about it?
And Frank, in A.A.--- who can't be attracted to his wife unless she is drinking heavily. Otherwise, she seems almost like 'his sister'.

Now------- from the author of the million-selling book series, "Getting Them Sober"------- Toby Rice Drews wrote this book about the most-hidden issues in relationships with alcoholics-------- whether or not they are sober.

Father Martin, in an interview with the author, said, "incest is the closet problem in alcoholism".

Recovering persons often are heard saying in meetings, "alcoholics don't have relationships---- they take hostages".

But what is not discussed aloud is----- "If a parking meter paid attention to an alcoholic, he would fall madly in love with it''.
But what if he's married?

Doesn't that change with sobriety? or does it?

And how do we feel when we find out our alcoholic daughter is having an affair with a married man twice her age, with kids of his own, who are all older than she is?

CHAPTER TITLES IN THIS BOOK ARE-------

* Is sober-sex terrifying?
* Sex and "games" and recovery
* Adult children of alcoholics--- guilt, shame, abuse, and isolation
* Adult daughters of alcoholics and the mistress-compulsion
* Replacing the excitement of sickness
* AIDS: Families of alcoholics --- hidden-high-risk group?
* Notes to family counselors and their clients

Drews' writing is endorsed by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, by 'dear Abby' (''this book should be read by everyone''), and by Melody Beattie (author of Codependent No More) who said "'Getting Them Sober' is the BEST book for families of the still-drinking alcoholic.''
