I really enjoyed reading this book. They say opposites attract, in this book they sure due make sparks fly. Shadow is a smart sexy strong heroine, Quint is a sexy alpha cowboy and the sexual tension between them is hot! There is enough danger, suspense, passion, spice, action and intrigue to keep a reader’s interest. I enjoyed reading and can recommend to everyone who reads this genre...

I have truly enjoyed the two intertwined series but am only half-way through this book and I want to smack her silly and tell her to grow the heck up.

This fantastic story is book 4 in the Military Intelligence Section 6 series and it features Darrow and Quint. How do you choose between your lifelong dream and love? It’s almost impossible! These two just clicked in every way. At some moments during the story it seem like everything was falling into place for them until you remembered who they were. Quint, an owner of a large cattle ranch in Texas and Darrow, training to be an agent for MI6 in England. The fire and everything surrounding it kind of came out of nowhere. It was an important, exciting and harrowing part of the story line but needed a better tie-in to the story. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED spending time with so many other characters from previous books! This is an awesome read and I can’t wait for more!

Darrow needs to get away from everything for a bit after breaking up with her boyfriend axel. She decides to go to visit her friend Wren, who lives in the country. Darrow meets Quint and they start a relationship. This book has ups and downs and lots of action packed moments. I love the relationship between Darrow and Quint but it's a bit sad when she has to leave all the time to go on missions once she is working as a MI6 agent. Can they make a relationship work with every thing that is happening? I really loved this book. It has just the right amount of action and romance to make it a great book. The next installment of the MI6 series is pretty good. Finally a story with the focus on the woman. Shadow/Darrow is the sister in the family and when she falls for Quint he wants her to follow her dream, not stay with him. An emotional roller coaster for everyone involved. This story is as good as any other in all of Ms. Slade’s books. Interesting characters and an interesting story make this a good read. This is my first book by Heather Slade and I would love to read more. This thrilling romantic suspense captured my interest from the first page. The plot is fabulous and the characters are well written, likable, and relatable. The sacrifices they make for each other are heartwarming. The danger, intrigue, and romance kept me engaged to the end. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have loved this entire series and this book is no exception We have met Quint and Darrow in previous books and there romance was going on in book three (Pinch)so this story actually runs parallel to that book. Darrow is best friends with Wren Quint's sister and she has come to visit at the ranch that is his home and his life. When he hears her laughing shortly after she arrives he knows that he is in trouble The attraction between them is instant but he never wants to leave the ranch While she is determined to live her life to the full. Can they form a lasting relationship when they both want things so different and when danger strikes will they both survive long enough to have to make those decisions

Shadow was one wild exciting ride, by the talented Heather Slade. This is a story with family, friendships, action, a touch of adventure, some danger and definitely some love. This is book 4 in the Military Intelligence Section 6 series and boy will this have you on one thrilling adventure and journey. The characters are intriguing, strong and absolutely lovable. Darrow Whittaker has an opportunity to follow her dream of training for MI6 and in doing so she will have to leave Texas and her cowboy Quint. Quint Alexander is a man who is happy with his life on his Texas ranch but one day when he meets the fiery Darrow things get a bit complicated. This is where the exciting journey starts and doesn’t stop till the end. I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. Darrow has always felt left out among her family since she was practically the only one now in the intelligence field and Quint is just the person to give her a little push to go after her dreams. Quin may just be one of my favorite characters from this series, even if I wanted to smack him a couple of times. Seriously though, Shadow is an action packed book, with some seriously adventurous characters and a story that I found very interesting. I loved the ending of this book also, Quint and Darrow are going down as one of my favorite couples in this series.

This was yet another fantastic romantic thriller from Heather Slade. Darrow "Shadow" Whittaker left the only man she's ever truly loved to follow her dream of working as a government agent like her brothers. Quint is a cowboy who grew up around secret government agents and when he's asked to provide temporary sanctuary to a friend of his sister's, he does. Quint and Darrow spend a year attempting to say goodbye to keep each other from choosing their dream or each other. Shadow was filled with danger, heartache, a near death experience, humorous wit, sacrifice, passion, and love. This is a captivating must read that readers won't want to put down. I loved this book and I can't wait for the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ARC for honest review with no compensation received from BookSprout Shadow is book 4 in the Military Intelligence Section 6 (MI6) by Heather Slade and she has filled the book with suspense, intrigue, laughter, tears, heart pounding action and steamy romance! We saw some of the back story in Pinch’s book (#3) and loved the two parts seeing what happened between Quint and Darrow when she runs of to the United States, Texas to be exact to find out who and what she wants to do with her life and then how the story evolves when she returns back to England months later...determined to become an MI6 agent. Quint sees Darrow [Shadow) for who she really is deep down and will do whatever it takes to help her make her dreams come true...even at the expense of not having her in his life forever! While in training she is pulled to come back to Texas and the ranch to help hide and protect her BFF Esland, who we read about in book 3 from people who want Esland dead. We also get to see some of our favorite characters from the Butler Ranch series too!! Will Shadow finally have her dreams but not the man who makes her whole or is it possible to have both?? Only time will tell...

A cowboy/spy romance with lots of intrigue.❤️️ Darrow or "Shadow" has always felt left out of her family because she was the only one who wasn't working for the MI5 or MI6 or Her Magestries Crown. The only time she felt like she fit in was when she ran off to her friend, Wren's, family ranch to try for a new life. That's when she met Quint, Wren's brother and their attraction was both instantaneous and intense. But then she's given a chance at doing what she's always wanted when Quint tells Axel, her ex, that wants to work for MI5 too. Its an emotional journey for both Shadow and Quint that will find them both learning what they truly want in life and how they can achieve those dreams... together. This is the fourth book in the Military Intelligence Section 6 and really should be read in the order it's written as each character plays revolving roles throughout the series.❣️ I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Shadow is another well-written book by Heather Slade. I loved the relationship between Quint and Darrow, and the origin of her code name, Shadow. The ending was perfect, especially the last paragraph of the epilogue. I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from Booksprout.

"Shadow" (Military Intelligence Section 6 Book 4) by Heather Slade is a great read. I loved Darrow and Quint's story. This is an excellent addition to this series, packed with action, passion, romance, entertaining characters, and more. I enjoyed getting to catch up with a lot of the characters we've met along the way through "The Butler Ranch Series", "K19 Security Solutions Series", and "Military Intelligence Section 6". I can't wait to see what happens next in this series and with this entertaining cast of characters. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, action, and series.

That's kind of what this is for Darrow that is, a coming of age. In her story which overlaps a couple of the other books, we get Darrow/Shadow and Quint's story. Shadow's story could have been repetitive but this author who is so tuned in, not only with her characters but in ways to give a different view point so that you might remember but it isn't the same. It's a fast paced story that shows a different side of her and Quint. It's a story of two merging their goals and supporting each other. Quint won't ask her to stay and she won't ask him to leave. Plenty of action and excitement and Shadow showing that she has the skill to be part of this team as an asset not just a little sister/Duchess. Great story that will keep you buzzing as this author is great for doing, with characters that will win your heart and make you want more.

Omg, Love Shadow and Quint! These two characters just fit, he was grounded and she was adrift. They'd had the best time on King Alexander ranch working or playing together. It was so well described, I was right there with them fixing fence, admiring the scenery, dancing or gettin jiggy under the covers. Darrow had some coming into herself moments, thanks to Quint for seeing the real Darrow, and giving the encouragement to follow HER dreams. Very teary, I was, when she left to do exactly that, train to become Shadow and work for MI6 in service to her majesty. This part was a wonderfully written elaboration on the events of Pinch (Book 4) and she, along with her bff Esland, from childhood, who she's protecting, end up back on King Alexander ranch. What follows is the edge of your seat drama, nail biting action. Shadow really is a hero here which just reinforces the issue of her following her dream. Of course, Ms. Slade throws a huge curve into this little sunset ending, with more heart stopping moments involving Darrow, and a change of plans yet again. Totally enjoyed this fast paced read from cover to cover, with an HEA that works out beautifully. Epilogue happiness here too!!

I loved this intense love story! We met Quint and Darrow in the earlier books that focused on the romances involving their siblings, but only got a hint of their romance in Book 3. This one gives us their entire story, and as events run concurrently with those of Book 3, with characters crossing over between both, you'll get a better understanding of all the players and situations if you've read Book 3 first. However, each book contains its own couple's romance from start to finish and as such can be read as a standalone. Quint is tied to the ranch that's been in his family for generations, and while Darrow is happy to get some much-needed respite there while visiting her friend, Wren (Quint's sister), she's got bigger dreams that will make staying at Quint's side all but impossible. These two are perhaps my favorite couple of this series, and I really enjoyed the way the author handled the inherent conflicts and big life decisions. The second-half is filled with heart-stopping action and nail-biting suspense as the threat from Axel and Ezzie's story spills over onto the King-Alexander ranch. Darrow is a true heroine, a woman who saves the day not just once but twice, and Quint is the perfect steadfast cowboy who gives her all the support she needs. The HEA is sensitively and beautifully written, neatly coinciding with that of Book 3. Parts of this book serve as updates for the first two books as well, as these characters interact with others in the series and the timelines are all very close and masterfully interwoven. If you love spies and cowboys, you'll get an extra helping of each in this wonderful addition to the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
