About the Author

Wendy has a Masters in Social Work and worked in the child welfare field for twelve years before she decided to pursue her dream of writing. Her first two books, Fractured and Mama Said were published in 2011 and 2012. Mama Said was a finalist in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence Contest. She self-published The Christmas Curse in 2012. Between teaching college classes, trying to get her morbidly obese cat to slim down, and tempering the will of her five-year-old granddaughter, who's determined to become a witch when she turns six so she can fly on her broom to see the Eiffel Tower and put hexes on people—not necessarily in that order—somehow Wendy still manages to fit in writing. She spends the remainder of her days inflicting mayhem on her hero and heroine until they beg for mercy.

I love Wendy Byrnes books! If you’re looking for a fun, funny and suspenseful cozy mystery then this is the one for you! It’s full of loveable quirky characters, too hot to handle men, and Izzy who is just plain fun to spend time with

I had read the first book in this series, but missed the second. This new book makes me want to go back & read what I missed— sure sign of a hit! Former Manhattanite Izzy is settling into small town life. She’s found a boyfriend in Gabe, friends in Sheriff Nate & his daughter, & surrogate family in the Q’s, the grandmotherly group that either gets her into or out of trouble, depending on the day & their mood! This time, it’s Nate getting into trouble when his ex-wife comes to town long enough to cause a big scene, then disappear. Is she alive or dead? No one knows, but plenty of people— including Gabe’s ex— would love to see Gabe locked up for her murder. It seems like everyone in town has big secrets, & to solve this case, Izzy is gong to have to uncover them— including one she may not want to dig into too deeply— that is, where does Gabe go when he’s not with her? After all, Izzy isn’t sure how ready she is to reveal all, so how can she push him? The book was fun & had lots of twists & turns. There were clues that went no where & others that were well hidden. Several times I was sure I’d figured it out, then changed my mind, which makes it more fun for me. I’m looking forward to more adventures with Izzy and her Q Crrew! Definitely a worthwhile read.

cozy-mystery, law-enforcement, suspense, seniors, situational-humor, verbal-humor, women-sleuths, amateur-sleuth Izzy is a frazzled artist with a bad divorce in her NYC past, the Qs are a zany group of seniors who are smarter and more devious than Qwilleran's cat, there are Rocky, Titus, and Boris, plus the folks noted in the publisher's blurb. DO NOT HAVE LIQUIDS AT HAND WHEN READING.! The constant laughing will have them all over you! Excellent mystery and a fun read.

Wonderful third book in the Izzy Lewis series. With a boyfriend, four surrogate grandmothers, the sheriff and his daughter for friends, former New Yorker Izzy finds life in the small town of Inez to be anything but dull. It was easy to get lost in Inez with these wonderful characters. The plot has several twists and a double for Izzy before letting us know if sheriff Nate killed his ex-wife. I could not put this book down.

This was such a fun read! Izzy and the Qs have to help Nate clear his name before he is convicted of a crime that they know he didn't commit. They will have you laughing while they push to save their friend. This was the first Izzy Lewis book I've read. I have already purchased the first in the series and can't wait to learn how they all met! I received an ARC from the publisher for purposes of an unbiased review.
