The author, Dr. Yang Jwing Ming, definetely knows what he's writing about. This book is a great source of information on Chinese Wushu, and I'd reccomend it to anyone interested in learning about Chinese martial arts, because it's a great and informative book. It also displays basic forms, and how to apply the techniques in reality.

This book contains the information necessary to lay down a firm foundation for the student of serious, traditional Chinese Kung Fu. Sections on history and martial morality complement those on basics, forms and self defence drills. Not a book for the dilletant or self-styled 'Bruce Lee' - an excellent introduction to the true Tao of Chinese Martial Arts.

...The answer is no! at first I felt it would be better and more demanding to go with a 'Hard' style of martial arts, but upon further inspection I realized that I was wrong. My previous assumptions of Kung Fu was it was for 'WHIMPS' Yet again I was wrong. I am currently studying this book and find it has helped me alot in everyday life.
