About the Author

Sharon was born and raised in Arizona and spent most of her youth breaking her arms and her legs, acting in the school plays and learning to play the clarinet. Badly.

In her junior year of high school she gave up acting to be a teacher’s aide for the behind the wheel instructor, handed out free food to her friends at a local drive-thru and graduated in 1988.

In college she met her future husband and has been married since 1995. She is a full-time, stay at home of five boys, one girl and a grandchild.
After having spent a dozen years working for the credit card industry as an identity theft analyst she quit to spend more time at home getting to know the intimate details and inner workings of her home appliances.

She still lives in Arizona with her family and spends her free time sipping Pina Coladas, getting her truck stuck in the rain, throwing bricks at old friends and writing for her blog at

I have been reading Sharon's weblog for a while now and I have also been fortunate enough to get to meet her through social media. I was very excited to hear that she was going to publish a book. Sharon's family is amazing. And so is Sharon's wonderfully dry wit as she almost literally chronicles the adventure that she and her family are living every day. They really say and do these things. At times you get the feeling that writing this stuff down is how Sharon manages to maintain her sanity. Well, that's great. Because these stories are gifts to all of us. Read and enjoy.

Sharon brings her stories to life with excellent imagery and hilarious descriptions of her family experiences.  Her humor is off the wall!  She helps all parents learn not to take life to seriously. Excellent book! I couldn't put it down.

Sharon is a great blogging friend that just wrote a great book!  If you love reading her wacky stories on her blog, you will die when you read her book!  Where you have to wait for each post she puts on her blog, you don't have to wait while reading the book.  It's continual fun (terror?) at the Madhouse.  The craziness is non stop.  You won't have time to breathe because you're laughing so much!   Sharon's dry wit about her daily family antics makes her book such a fun read.  Where's the best place to hide from six kids?  The roof.   I can see her now, eating that ham sandwich and being found out much too quickly.  Even if you don't have six kids, you can totally relate to her trials of motherhood and sigh right along with her.  Pick up a copy and have fun!

Magnificently written, I laughed throughout the book! What a refreshingly honest look at the life of a mother of 6 children! The author's ability to make the dirty little secrets of being a SAHM illuminating and hilarious was uncanny! I recommend getting copies for all the moms you know!!

I love Sharon and I love her book. And you should too, don't know her yet, well you can remedy that. I well remember being a teenager and becoming a huge fan of Erma Bombeck, her newspaper column and her talk show appearances. Although I never planned on marrying, having children, or living in suburbia with a partner, her humor and honesty reached out, touched me, and made me laugh out loud with surprise and glee, love of life and love for her. I didn't know how rare that was when I found it, but I have since discovered it is one of the rarest treasures we humans can find in another. Let me just say Sharon is just that kind of rare treasure. Like Erma Bombeck, Sharon, shows humanity, humor, love, intelligence, and a huge capacity for life. If you don't know of Sharon's writings by now, you should, you need to, buy this, read it and laugh and laugh.

Sharon is definitely NOT Donna Reed, but she is hysterically funny. Step over the toys and around the kids fighting on the floor and laugh a little with Sharon and her brood of 6 kids. You now her oldest ran away to the Navy to get some peace and quiet.
