About the Author

Alex Grayson is originally from the south, but has recently moved to Northern Ohio. Although she misses the warmth of Florida and often detests the cold of Ohio, she absolutely loves living in the north. She and her husband bought a house on two acres of land and live there with their daughter, son, one dog, two cats, and eight ducks, and four chickens. She hopes to eventually get a couple of goats to add to their country way of living. Besides her family and home, her next best passion is reading. She is often found with her nose obsessively stuck in a book, much to the frustration of her husband and kids. On more than one occasion, Alex found herself wanting a book to go a certain way, but it didn't. With these thoughts in mind, she decided to start writing stories according to her own visions. Although this is a new endeavor for her, she hopes that readers find her concepts on romance intriguing and captivating. Alex welcomes and encourages feedback, of any kind. She can be contacted at

I had the pleasure of editing Shatter Me by Alex Grayson and to say that we were impressed with her debut novel is an understatement. From the beginning of the story I was drawn in and thrust into an endless sea of mixed emotions. I laughed, cried (real tears) and at times I was completely pissed off. At one point I had to walk away from the story, needing a moment for the thumping of my heart to ease. Grayson had me completely at her mercy, anxiously awaiting for the story to unfold and praying that... Well I can't ruin the story for you. The characters in this novel are real people. They aren't plastic or vague. They could be your mother, sister or best friend; totally relate-able and I loved that about Grayson's writing style. She was true to the character of the characters if that said sense. The story is set in a very small town and throughout the story I had an at home southern feel. In the end, I would recommend that everyone reads this book. It's sweet, raw and had the right amount of angst that will drive you completely nuts with the need to keep reading.

This was an amazingly written story that I found hard to believe was by a first time author.  This story has warnings for a reason as it is a deeply emotional one. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will be forever touched by this read. It is definitely a heavier read but it is one I am glad I read. You will fall in love with the characters in this book and when you finish it will leave you wanting the next book. This is an author I will read again.

Just wow! I'm totally blown away by this book. Alex Grayson did an outstanding job of writing fiction yet still sent a very loud message to readers about abuse. Baily's life on the run seems like hell. Will she ever be able to stop running? Moving into a small town, to make some cash, Baily finds hope, friendships and a feeling of peace. But is her time running out? Can Jaxon protect her from her past; the evil lurking around the corner? Trust and love are difficult for some couples to give. Add in an abusive past and it becomes almost impossible. Jaxon's determination to win Baily's heart while giving her time to heal was incredible to read. This is an outstanding book. Epilogue and all. Yes, it's long, yes it will have you searching your soul and yes it discusses hard truths. Alex has me hooked. Hooked and a believer in faith and that happiness can rise after the darkness. Trust me, I'm stingy with the 5 stars. A MUST READ
