About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Magda Alexander loves reading and writing steamy romances. A lifelong learner, Magda graduated from the University of Maryland, where she majored in business administration (because her family had to eat) and minored in English (because she needed to dream). She’s lived in Maryland most of her life and now resides close to the Catoctin Mountains in a city whose history dates back to colonial times.

Packed with mystery, suspense, and some steamy relations. Reviewed by Gemini Shattered Trust is the second book in The Shattered series by Magda Alexander and it picks up directly after the events of Shattered Virtue, so I highly recommend reading the first book before starting this one. Shattered Trust is definitely a must read. It is packed with mystery, suspense, and some steamy relations. The story is about Madrigal Berkeley, her younger sister Madison, and Trenton Steele as they embark on a journey to figure out who murdered Holden Gardiner, the girls’ grandfather. The girls’ surrogate uncle, Mitchell Brooks has been charged with the murder but no one believes that he did it. Trenton, who is a criminal attorney and Mitchell’s protege’, finds himself in some conflicting situations as he uncovers a wealth of family secrets that will impact his romantic relationship with Madrigal and change the trajectory of his career. Madrigal and Madison learn some painful truths about their family and are put in danger. Compared to the Shattered Virtue, the suspense is intensified and I was compelled to keep reading. I was disappointed that the mystery does not get solved in this book but I can appreciate the roller coaster ride. Due to the nature of the book, I can’t reveal much without ruining anything. I will say that Magda Alexander does an amazing job of drawing you in and making you feel like a part of the investigation. The characters are all very unique and I have no clue what will happen next. I also like the fact that the story is told from multiple points of view so you can get in the main characters’ heads. I get the feeling that there is another plot twist coming so I can’t wait to read the next book. **Received a copy from Montlake in exchange for an honest unbiased opinion.**
