Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite Audrey Muller was a mentor at Ironwood, a residential treatment center for troubled teens. One of her mentees, Lindsay, had gone missing and Audrey knew her family well. She did not want to put the blame for Lindsay’s disappearance on her parents. Her mother told Audrey that Lindsay did not return from school and she had left around forty missed calls on Lindsay’s phone. She informed the police when she realized her calls were not going to be answered. Audrey’s relationship with the family made her decide to help them in finding Lindsay. Audrey was not sure if Lindsay went missing on purpose or if she was kidnapped. She decided to ask the help of a popular biker gang and she found herself attracted to Marcus, the leader of the gang. Will she be able to find Lindsay? She Didn’t Have A Choice by Harshul Srivastava is a romantic thriller and I was impressed by the expertise with which the author has woven a romantic angle into a thriller. As one part of the story is all about Lindsay’s disappearance and Audrey accepting the help of a biker gang to find her, another side slowly brings in romance and passion through Audrey’s attraction towards Marcus. The story is descriptive, gripping, and fast paced, and the drama, suspense, romance, and intrigue make it a compelling read. All the characters are well sketched, real and relatable. Audrey’s characterization is my personal favorite as she leaves a lasting impression because of her genuineness when it comes to finding Lindsay.
