it was a wonderful story. i enjoyed the characters and felt that the author has grown in her story telling.... toni was strong and loved her sisters. it made me long for my family to be closer despite our issues. during the holiday season i plan to draw closer to my family and work things out. i hated nothing but the rent, the characters were poorly drawn and lacked defintiion and clarity . their issues were stupid i will defininitely read another book by mitchell..... given the quality of sheer necessity.

The only reason I read it all the way to the end is because I can't put a book down once I start it and I was hoping it would get better. This book was boring and everything that happened in the ending I knew was going to happen, its a drama with a fairy tale ending. This was my first book that I read by Sharon Mitchell and it will be my last.

I recommend this book to any one who likes a happy ending. There wasn't a dull moment in this book. It nourishes the spirit. I enjoyed it because It places a priceless value on family. The ending is joyful and is not a cliff hanger. It leaves you thinking about how wonderful life is.

This is remarkable compared to 'Nothing but the rent'. I was able to relate with these characters a lot better. I liked the way Beale came into the picture but not yet a focus. It took me only 2 days to read this one. I look forward to her next book as long as it keeps this style. This was a huge step up. Keep up the good work.

I could not finish 'Nothing But The Rent' but gave the author a second chance with 'Sheer Necessity'. I picked up the book and cared about the characters from beginning to end. Ms. Mitchell has grown in leaps and bounds and anyone who couldn't get with her first one, should really give her a second look with 'Sheer Necessity.' You might be surprised...
