About the Author

Shaheryar Mian is a Burlington, Canada, based entrepreneur and community leader. Shaheryar started his career at Lloyds Bank in London, England after graduating from McGill University in 2005. After spending five years in financial services, Shaheryar moved to New York to work in management consulting at Gallup. Shaheryar subsequently started his own investment firm. Shaheryar sits on the boards of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, and CrimeStoppers Halton. As part of Shaheryar's philanthropic efforts, he has helped raise millions of dollars for hospitals in Ontario, and as well helped raise funds for Habitat for Humanity. In 2023, Shaheryar led efforts to pledge a $2 million donation to the construction of Niagara South Hospital. Shaheryar holds an MBA degree from the University of Oxford, a master's degree in Liberal Arts from Harvard University, and is a CFA charter holder.
