The end has come. While he is counted among the greatest villains the Marvel Universe has ever seen, one question remains: whose side is Daken really on? As part of the SIEGE on Asgard, what, or who, will he encounter in the land of the gods thatwill change him forever? And in New Mutants, with all the Asgardians falling in the Siege of Asgard, someone needs to deal with the dead. And who better to do so than a Valkyrie. But where is Dani Moonstar supposed to be bringing these dead? COLLECTING: Dark Wolverine #82-84, New Mutants #11, Siege: Storming Asgard - Heroes & Villains

The X-Men stayed pretty low when it came to the Siege event; the only issues collected here are three from Dark Wolverine (featuring Daken, Wolverine's son) and one from New Mutants (I haven't read anything from that title yet and had no idea who any of them were). There's also some throw-away issue collected here about who is involved in Siege, but I never read those anyway.I normally enjoy Daken, but these issues were pretty lame. Daken kills Norman Osborn...except he doesn't. Daken leads the charge and saves the day...except he doesn't. So what does he do? He runs into three Norse Fates who keep giving him do-overs, so the issues are just one big "haha this didn't really happen." The only interesting thing about the issues was Daken's interaction with Lester, which is always hilarious (and I hope it continues after Dark Reign is officially over, because they're just too good when he's messing with Lester). I had no idea what was going on in the New Mutants issues collected here.My vote: pass this one up unless you're a diehard fan (and even then, just skim it).
