I own all of Sonata Arctica's CDs, and I can clearly say, from experience, that they are unique and wonderful in every way. Their music doesn't fit into any one category, but rather ranges from Metal to Rock, to Electronica to Blues to even Ballad. Their lyrics are phenomenal, and the acoustics georgeous. I could recommend no better band!

This is one of my favorite Sonata Arctica albums! I first got into them listening to Reckoning Night, and decided to seek out past recordings. This is one of the few that I enjoy every single track on (not that I don't like all of the tracks on the others, but there are a few "skip ahead" tracks when I'm short on time). This one is a winner, for sure! So, if you are looking for some new symphonic/speed metal to add to your collection, I totally recommend this one!

Although Sonata Arctica has been a very good melodic heavy metal band since Ecliptica, it seems everyone hasn't noticed it yet. Silence is maybe a little bit more commercial than Ecliptica but not too much. The second track, Weballergy is very fast and it is a good starter, like Blank File was in their first album, Ecliptica. There are more good fast tracks in the album, False News Travel Fast, Black Sheep, Land of the Free, San Sebastian, instrumental Revontulet, Wolf & Raven which are all very popular live tracks. Their power takes you with them and you have to listen them, at least it happened to me. In the Album is an Emotional side too: The End of this Chapter, full of anger, agony and jealousy; Last Drop Falls tell about a woman which is said to be whore by the singer; Sing in Silence, this touches every one who has been sad and lonely; Tallulah is a love song but full of jealousy. The Power of One is very long but also very varying too. You can separate many parts and they all are good. This album is definitely worth buying!

I have been in love with Sonata since I first heared their cover of Metallica's "Fade to Black." They have a very cool sound. I wasn't a big fan of Euro rock until I heared this CD. This was the first one that I baught, and I wasn't disappointed.
