Good story

Sean is a cardiac surgeon, 38, and single. He lives with his best friend, his brother Ryan. Sean and Ryan are more like identical twins than simply brothers. They are both former Navy Seals and drop dead gorgeous.  Beth is 28, single, beautiful, and works at the hospital handling medical claims. She has also been deaf for over 4 years. Beth suffers from insecurity due to her deafness. When Sean and Beth meet, he is determined they will have a relationship. Beth thinks she will be a burden and is unworthy. Sean sets out to prove to Beth that she is deserving of a good life and worthy of his love. I really enjoyed this book. I can relate to the characters and the situations. The plot moves at a good pace. I like the way the characters work out their difficulties through open, honest communication like mature adults. I could understand Beth's parents being overly protective. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Sean and Ryan. That being said, I felt the inclusion of Courtney to add extra drama was unneccessary and detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book. Beth dealing with her entirely understandable insecurities and Sean learning how to get Beth to understand how special she was to him was all the story needed. I would have given it 5 Stars except for this. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes HEA Romances.  4.5 Stars

Beth wants to be invisible and have no one hurt her. After a devastating loss she just wants to blend in. Sean is a playboy Doctor. He meets Beth when she runs into him. He is instantly attracted to her. He tracks her down and makes her go out with him. Can they overcome the obstacles that are about to fall into their life? Between the cousin and the co-workers are they already doomed from the start? Casey will have you laughing out loud during parts of this story. Yes there are parts that may make you cry but the laughs and all around great story will have you forgetting the few tears that may fall. Can’t wait for Ryan’s story and I must go back and read about Courtney also. I recommend this story!!

As a disabled person I love encountering characters dealing with their disabilities in a realistic way and Ms. Clipper does that fairly well in this story with Beth who became deaf four years ago in a tragic event. Not only has she created a personable heroine but a hero that is truly drool-worthy in the former Navy SEAL turned doctor, Sean. He enjoys the ladies and they enjoy him as he's sexy and charming. He's also very dedicated to family as seen by his brother joining the service with him and the two of them sharing a home. Up until now Sean was happy with his bachelor life but the day he met Beth he became a different man, one who set out to prove he was worthy of her and willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and happy. No matter how much she pushes him away he's there supporting her and giving her time to cope with her dark moments. Beth goes through a lot of emotional turmoil in this book as she's harassed at work because of her disability and fears that no man will ever want her because of her disability. Sean isn't the kind of man to let what he wants get away from him though so it's a subtle battle of the sexes as theirs is a rocky road to HEA due to outside forces and inner heartache. Beth is still trying to cope with her loss and keeping events from her past secret that end up intertwining with Sean's cousin Courtney which forces him to choose between love and family. Throughout this rocky journey events keep befalling Beth, like her home catching fire, that leave us rooting for her and feeling deep sympathy for her. She deals with it as best she can but there were times I found her a bit too quick to cry. In most other ways I liked her. This story truly belongs to Sean though as it's told mostly from his perspective. He's a wonderful hero who protects Beth no matter the cost. Their romance teems with sexual tension from their first encounter as their relationship evolves from sweet to sexy with him charming her every step of the way, as well as us. His brother Ryan is also a charmer who forms a deep and loyal friendship with Beth giving her even more support to get through the pain of her past. I long to see his story told as he has hero material written all over him. Some of the events that befell Beth throughout the story felt a bit over-the-top and took away some of the story's believability but I applaud her rising above it all with the supportive Sean by her side. Though Sean was introduced in a previous book of Ms. Clipper's it's not necessary to have read it to enjoy this one. With her heartwarming yet sexy storytelling ability though readers will want to add more of her books to their bookshelf.
