If you remember and still love those Shell Silverstein classics, then you'll love sharing this book with your little ones. A book like this introduces characters, rhyme, rhythm, imagination, and just plain silly fun to beginning readers. It's one of those books that whisks you away to an imaginary place that is as close as home and as far away as your creative mind can take you. It's an excellent read and your little ones will want to travel there again and again!

I also purchased Jeff's first book DIRT ON MY SHIRT and loved it. This one is just as entertaining and comical. I gave them to my grandson as birthday presents last year and this year. He loves them and enjoys reading them again and again. Good work Jeff.

I recently purchased the book "Silly Street" by Jeff Foxworthy. Not only did my 7 year old son extrememly love it, so did I! He asks me to read it every day sometimes twice a day. My son also asked for Jeff Foxworthy's other book "Dirt On My Shirt", it was also a huge hit with him. I would recommend both books to any parents who have kids, the books are fun to read as well as entertaining for both kids and parents.

Silly Street is a book of funny poems to be shared with your children and/or grandchildren. I bought this book to read to my 4 year old granddaughter and she loves it. The illustrations and funny poems are done with children in mind. Silly Street, Hats and Halos, Lost Your Marbles, Boo Boo McGrew, Perpetual Puddle, Mister Billy and House of Popsicles are just a few of the poem titles in the book. They will keep you and your children/grandchildren laughing and coming back for more. This is one book my granddaughter wants me to read to her everytime she visits. When I read the silly poems she always asks me questions about each one based on the pictures that are associated with the poems. Families will enjoy reading this book together. Silly Street will bring out the kid in all of us and I highly recommend buying this book.

This book also has great pictures. They are big and easy to see in a large group. It teaches children how to rhyme easily. If I were a teacher, I'd use this book in a second. I like it.

This collection of poetry represents all the things you can do on Silly Street. Jeff Foxworthy does an amazing job of writing poetry that children will enjoy reading over and over again. The sing-song wording makes it easy for young readers to follow and the rhyme schemes represented in the poetry make them unforgettable. The illustrations make the book even better. The colorful, imaginative pictures in the book create a platform of fun and enjoyable poetry that all readers will read over and over. After reading this book and Dirt On My Shirt, another poetry book by Foxworthy, students will study the rhyme schemes in the poetry.

My son and I love this book. Our favorite part of Silly Street is the "perpetual puddle".

A collection of funny poems about kids who live on Silly Street and encounter things they could only dream of every day. Anything happens here on silly street where kids are in control. -Great for teaching kids about being comfortable with sharing about their imagination.

This collections of poems all relate to what you would find on Silly Street; the place you go when you are feel quite silly. Many rhyming patters are used and a few fine moments of imagery and unexpected ideas find their way into the poems. However, overall the poetry sits dull on the page, refusing to take on a life of it own in a manner most unbecoming of poetry. The water color and ink illustrations in this book are fun and zany. The illustrations save the day and make the read enjoyable, making up for the very ¿common¿ nature of the poetry.
