Overview

SIMON by V.A. Dold

Desperate to find his mate, Simon Le Beau joined the Marines. No matter how badly he wanted his destined female, she wasn't going to walk up and knock on his door. Maybe a bit of travel while serving his country would bring him a little luck in love.
Four years later, he returns home from deployment, stuck in wolf form. Little did he know, his mate would, in fact, show up at his family's plantation. If only he had opposable thumbs.
Rose O'Leary is a beautiful, voluptuous woman. Raised in foster homes, she fears abandonment and avoids men. Relationships bring nothing but pain.
As if they didn't have enough problems, a secret organization is out to destroy the Le Beau family. What better way to cripple the royal family than to steal their females? And the one they hired wants Rose for himself.
Welcome to New Orleans, Louisiana, where every myth and scary story you were ever told is real. A place where the things that go bump in the night, or daytime for that matter, are surprisingly friendly. For the most part.
Take a good look at your neighbor, the person sitting beside you at the bar, or your coworker. Are you sure they're human?

About the Author

V.A. Dold is the USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR of the Award-winning Le Beau Series, League of Guardians, and K.I.S.S series.
Her idea of absolute heaven is a day in the French Quarter with her computer, her coffee mug, and the Brothers, of course. Or a night with a sexy cowboy in the hayloft.
A Midwest native, with her heart lost to Louisiana & Texas. She has a penchant for titillating tales featuring sexy men and strong women. When she's not writing, she's probably taking in a movie, reading, or traveling. Oh, and there is the distinct possibility she is out cowboy hunting.

I read a wide array of books, but prefer paranormal romance. This series is fun and sexy without being vulgar. The language is clean and the story and characters are well thought out. I've read two of the series and plan to complete it.

I really wanted to like it. The characters are interesting but it just moved too slowly for me. If you like a slow read then the book is perfect for you

I see potential, but it's just not there for me. I made it a little over halfway through and have decided not to finish it. The back story is nice, but I feel this book is poorly written. I hate to say it this way, but the writing seems almost juvenile. Maybe the author's first book? Or maybe they are still finding their groove. Like I said, I see potential, but I could not immerse myself in this story.
