As the snow begins to melt, Simon decides he will hurry spring to appear. When his drum fails to call it forth, he tries fantastic, but charmingly imaginative ways to pull flowers from the earth, tempt birds to return, and encourage bears to awaken – only to discover that spring will come in its own time, despite what we try to do to make it come any sooner.
About the Author
Gilles Tibo is one of Quebec’s most prolific artists and authors. His children’s books have won numerous awards, including the Governor General’s Literary Award and the Owl Award from Japan, and the artwork from Annabel Lee was accepted into the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators’ Exhibition. He also represented Canada for the 1998 Hans Christian Andersen Award. Gilles Tibo lives in Montreal.
