Another great story from one of my favorite authors. I loved the dynamic between the two characters. And the ending was phenomenal! A surprise that totally made the story perfect.

The characters are believable and halfway through the book you feel like you know them. It is exciting and fun and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to start the rest of the series.

Extremely slow build up and very choppy writing. Decided to stop halfway through.

Tyler finds himself trapped in a mess of his own making. He solves it by asking out the smart and beautiful Amy. He has wanted to talk to her for a while. Amy always feels like she is not enough. She has trouble from her past that she hopes to never see again. Will getting involved with Tyler's plan ruin everything? Loved this story. So excited to read the rest of the series. These characters were so meant to be. I loved the humor, the heat, and the sexy was out of this world hot! I thought is was great and cannot wait for the next book in the Flatiron Five series.

Loved the personalities of Amy and Ty. The act of both Amy and Ty reading many of the same books and visiting the same book store was a great plot. Their getting to know each other was an enjoyable adventure.

3.5 stars--SIMPLY IRESISTIBLE is the first instalment in Deborah Cooke’s contemporary, adult FLATIRON FIVE erotic romance series focusing on five friends-owners and proprietors of the exclusive Manhattan fitness club Flatiron Five-Tyler, Kyle, Damon, Cassie, and Theo. This is financial investor Tyler McKay, and receptionist Amy Thornton’s story line. NOTE: SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE is an erotic, romance story line with some light BDSM scenarios including spanking and bondage that may be triggers for more sensitive readers. Told from several third person perspectives including Tyler and Amy SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE focuses on the fake relationship between financial investor Tyler McKay, and receptionist Amy Thornton. Tyler McKay is tired of the his mother’s need to marry off her only son, and with the upcoming wedding of sister number four, Tyler needs a ‘fake girlfriend’ to ward off his mother’s matchmaking advances. Enter receptionist Amy Thornton, a ‘plain Jane’ woman whose interests include erotic romance story lines, and BDSM. When his very own F5 Fitness Club offers classes in sexual awareness, Tyler soon discovers that the ‘shy and dower’ Amy Thornton has signed up for some awareness of her own. What ensues is the building romance between Tyler and Amy, as Tyler makes Amy an offer she cannot refuse. When Tyler asks Amy to be his plus-one for his sister’s wedding, he also offers to be Amy’s plus-one for her cousin’s wedding in return. Amy Thornton is a bit of a ‘door-mat’ in that she is easily pushed around by her boss, and a cousin who demands all of Amy’s time in advance of her own wedding. Her inability to say no, and need to help didn’t do our heroine any favours. Having no knowledge about her extended family, Amy is pulled into the vortex that will become her own personal h*ll. Tyler McKay doesn’t do relationships but meeting Amy Thornton, something about our heroine tugs at Tyler’s heart including her need to discover her kinkier side. The relationship between Tyler and Amy begins as an arrangement; a fake relationship to appease Tyler’s mother, and the growing entourage of aunts and sisters who are determined to marry Tyler to the first suitable bachelorette. With no plans for anything permanent, Amy considers a relationship with someone else, someone who isn’t quite whom they appear to be. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense with some light BDSM scenarios. We are introduced to Tyler’s business partners at F5: Kyle, Damon, Cassie, and Theo; Amy’s best friend and book store owner Jade; Tyler’s sister Lauren whose own marriage is spiralling out of control; and an assortment of well-meaning sisters and cousins, including a ‘bridezilla’ intent on abusing Amy’s quiet nature. Kyle and Lauren’s story line is next in ADDICTED TO LOVE. SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE is a story of family, honor, betrayal and trust. Because this is a story with a secondary premise focusing on BDSM, the issues of trust come into question. The ‘Dominant’ is deceitful with his identity, and continues to perpetuate a lie throughout most of the story, but in the end, all is forgiven rather quickly and without any emotional fall-out. The premise is entertaining; the romance is passionate; the characters are energetic and flirty but the heroine’s need to ‘save’ everyone interfered with my overall enjoyment.

It was fun to watch shy and unassuming Amy hold her own against bossy and possessive Tyler. It was funny watching Tyler become what Amy needed to come out of her shell. His duplicity almost backfired on him but he prevailed. Great build of characters and looking forward to Kyle's story in the next book.

Deb Cooke’s debut in her new Flat Iron 5 contemporary series is a delight, and a bit naughty romantic comedy. In it she gives readers a fantastic fake date trope staring a closet reading e-rom, nerd girl with some rather wicked fantasies and matches her with a hot, too sexy for his Brooks Brother’s suit wearing vanilla-nice guy. Her dialogue is catchy and fast paced its full of poetry and great quotes and is a love letter to the Manhattan setting in this sexy and sweet with a lot of heat romance. So if you’re looking for something to keep you warm on a cold winter’s night you’ve come to the right place. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next but if you read book one you might get a hint! Tyler McKay has a big problem his little sister is getting married and if he shows up stag to the wedding he knows his big, noisy, interfering family, especially his fanatic for grandbabies, mother will try to fix him up. He’s not opposed to marriage, he simply wants to chose his own partner in his own time. So his solution is proposing a fake dating scheme with the woman he’s been noticing in his building’s lunchroom, the buttoned up, voracious reader he’s affectionately nicknamed, the librarian. When he finally meets her, he learns that she can also benefit from a fake wedding date, plus he’s pleased to learn she’s not as buttoned up as he first thought. And he’s actually looking forward to making this fake date as fun as possible. With a dead end job, a house that’s falling apart and no funds for repairs, Amy Thornton’s only outlet was living vicariously through the characters in her erotic romance novels. Until the hot sexy guy she’s been secretly referring to as Mr. Yum approaches her with the most hair-brained proposition. She knows it won’t work, she knows no one will believe they’re dating but she also knows it will be sweet revenge bringing him to her Bridezilla cousin’s wedding. So her answer as implausible as it seems, is a resounding YES!

I am not a fan of erotic romances or the modern millionaire-playboy-meets-the-girl romances. I much prefer historical and paranormal romances, so this wasn't my kind of genre. Deborah Cooke asked me to read it so I thought I'd give it a shot. It had its moments. The fake date relationship between Amy and Ty was good and even her curiosity about the BDSM world added some spice, but after her two sessions at the gym, I hoped she would have leaned more towards Ty and not Matteo. I didn't particularly like Amy. At times she behaved so naively, especially about Matteo. She had a great guy in Ty and she considers throwing it away for the possibility of saving Matteo and having her sexual adventure. Ty was also a bit too forgiving, I mean they make love and in less than an hour or so since he leaves, she is calling Matteo specifically to have sex. Dude, I mean what is wrong with her? I would have washed my hands of her at that point and I would have told her the truth before walking away. Why he would be worrying about her feelings when she is turning to another man shortly after they were together was mind blowing. There was one aspect that I really did love, throughout the story the two main characters quoted Pride and Prejudice, The Importance of Being Ernest, and several other authors and romantic comedy movies. That made me smile a lot. Love me some Austen and Wilde. The story does end well. She wasn't angry when the truth came out, which I kind of expected, but it would have been predictable so I think it was a plus that she wasn't. I am curious about the other partners' stories, so the plot concept is good and progressed smoothly and intrigued me. My only negative was Amy's naïve manner about wanting to save Matteo in spite of a great guy like Ty. I'm glad he opened up his views to accept what she needed but the choice between the two men should have been a no-brainer.

Simply Irresistible by Deborah Cooke, is Book 1 in her new and refreshing, "Flatiron Five" series. I enjoyed watching Amy Thornton and Tyler McKay's relationship evolve into so much more. Tyler is a refreshing hero, he has no baggage, no deep dark secrets, and not emotionally wounded. Amy, on the other hand, is looking for the promise of forbidden pleasures, so she enrolls in a bondage class. She is an author, afterall, and needs research for her book. Tyler disguises himself as the dangerous and sexy, Matteo. Who has also enrolled in the class. Can two lovers become more, and lose their hearts? Which will Amy choose, the dangerous, naughty, Mateo, or Tyler, the nice, excutive? Well written with refreshing and interesting characters. The storyline was definitely unique, as Tyler is the nice, goregous guy, Mateo the naughty guy, who offers forbidden pleasure. Ms. Cooke has written a well thought out story, that was interesting and unique. Well done, Ms. Cooke! I received a complimentary copy. Rating: 4 Heat rating: Hot Reviewed by: AprilR

A delicious change of pace by a terrific author Tyler approaches Amy to ask her to be his fake date for a family wedding to keep his mother from nagging him about getting married. Amy, feeling pressure from her extended family as well, agrees. Things quickly become complicated. I felt that this book was quite a change of direction for Ms. Cooke in that Amy wanted to experience the BDSM lifestyle while Tyler, the guy she was rapidly falling for, was less than enthusiastic. But when it became clear that she was going to take an informative class at the gym that Tyler was part owner of, he decided to don a disguise to help teach the class to protect her from the experience going too far. That led to an awkward period when Amy was "cheating" on Tyler with his alter ego! And poor Tyler was jealous! In the end, Tyler came to the realization that he was willing to try anything for the love of his life and he actually enjoyed the experience. This was a fun, well-written book. Amy reads romance books, the hotter the better. Tyler needs a fake date to protect him from family matchmaking while he attends sister #4s wedding. He has seen Amy, who works in the same building as him, and decides to ask "The Librarian." This book was hot, and I couldn't put it down! It can be read as a standalone book, though it is the first in a series of five books featuring the five co-owners of a fitness club. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series being published! A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review.
