A Sin and a Shame by Victoria Christopher Murray

After fleeing Los Angeles when her attempt to break up her best friend's marriage fails, Jasmine is now a changed woman...and a Christian. She vows to attend church every Sunday, swears off married men, and begins her search for the soul mate she is sure God has for her. Now living in the Big Apple, she has shed twenty-five pounds, shaved ten years off her age, filled her expensive apartment with designer clothes...all to begin her man-finding mission.

She quickly meets her dream mate -- a preacher -- who falls head over heels in love with her. Surely, God is good! But things start slipping when another man from Jasmine's past refuses to stay there, and an unexpected pregnancy threatens to sabotage all of her dreams. Will Jasmine's lying and scheming continue? Or will she finally learn that honesty is the only path to redemption?

I really enjoyed this book. Please read Temptation first so that you will know a little about Jasmine's character. This was a Christian book that shows that all people are not perfect whether they church or not. Hosea was a rariety these days and so was his dad. The other characters played significant roles in this book. I enjoyed the scriptures they quoted and the sex scenes were not over the top. Can't say much more without giving it away. RECOMMENDED!

Victoria Christopher Murray is an excellent storyteller. Her books are exciting and leave you wanting more. I have all of my friends reading her books. They, like me, are in awe and amazement. Ms. Murray keep those Christian fiction books on the shelves for our reading entertainment. It is a pleasure to read a book that has no cursing!!! I'm thrilled everytime I pick up one of your books. I'm never ever disappointed when I've finished reading one of Ms. Murray's books. I want to read more and more. I definitely recommend this book!!! I'd love to see a movie version of your Jasmine Larson books!!!

I just finished reading this book, it was a real page turner. I LOVED this book. It had me look at my life and make changes. Im not in a relationship so theres no scheming going on here, but now Im looking for someone willing to court me they way Hosea wanted to court Jasmine. As someone stated before, read Temptation first, you will not be disappointed.

A Sin and a Shame, is the first book I have ever read by Victoria Christopher Murray. I loved it! I could not stop reading! Murray did an excellent job taking a story from the Bible and relating it to this story. I pray the Lord will send me a man like 'Hosea Bush.' :)

Jasmine Larson the protagonist of this tantilizing tale weaves a quilt of deception with some colorful characters....Mae Frances a eccentric divorcee refuses to have any part of Jasmine Larsons 'Christian' life... her ever adoring sister Sarena who is living the perfect Christian life...Malik her rightous by default God brother.....Reverend Bush and his son Hosea... the most incredible Black man you would ever want to meet. This was an entertaining tale that captured my attention from page one. I couldn't believe some of the 'crazy' situations Jasmine encountered...I found myself talking outload...laughing...crying and rejocing at the end....finally Jasmine has really grown up!!

I enjoyed this book and read it in one day. The character Jasmine seems to be a habitual liar, and doesn't give up on anything that she REALLY wants. This goes to show you that we all fall short, but at the same time we must put a stop to some bad habits. Hopefully Jasmine will grow up, change her ways and really commit herself to Christ and Hosea.
