I love this author! So many twists and turns in every book! BUT I am on page 49 of this book and I have to say I don't think I can finish it.. Does it ever stop rambling on and on and get to a story? Rarely do I stop a book. This just might be my first if it doesn't get better soon. :(

Expect the unexpected when reading a book by JA Huss – I know that, but still I get blindsided. Be it by twists I was not expecting, or simply a storyline that does not go where I think it would. The first surprise with this one was the fact that she would co-author this series with Johnathan McClain. Because Huss herself is a force to be reckoned with, her way of constructing a story always unique and powerful – what would happen if you added a man’s perspective into the mix? Well, it’s intoxicating and intense and raw – to say the least. It fits and makes me hungry for more – and thankfully, SIN WIT ME is the first of a four-book-series. I just have the feeling my new obsession will only get worse from this point on… While the beginning is a bit slow, it gathers speed very quickly – having me wondering where all the pages have gone. There was this one point from which on the story just held me hostage, unwilling to let me go. It consumed me, had me forgetting everything else around me. That’s what makes a great read for me. To block out the real world. To just dive in and be in your happy place – even if the story contains elements that are anything but that. Because, let’s face it, this one was more beautifully tragic than happy. And still, it wowed me, left an imprint on my soul and will have me thinking of it for a long time to come. It’s not your typical romance, which is exactly why I crave unpredictable stories like this so much. It is about two damaged souls, two people kind of lost in the world. Existing, but not living. Both harboring secrets and carrying baggage and guilt that no lone person should bear. Still, neither of them is looking to be saved. …that is, until their worlds collide and they slowly begin to recognize a broken part of themselves in one another. Should there still be salvation for them both after all? Gritty. Dark. Suspenseful. Emotional. Tender. Explosive. Heartbreaking. Hot. Screwed-up. A few of many adjectives that do not even begin to describe the complexity of the story. The story of two lost and tortured people finding solace in each other. If you love dark romance or have yet to discover it – this one is a must read!

Sin With Me is the first book in a new series by JAHuss, writing for the first time with Jonathan McClain. I have read and enjoyed many of Ms Huss's books and wasn't sure how I would like this new series with a co-author. I have to admit that it didn't grab me right off the bat, but once I got a few chapters into the story I started to get into it. The story takes place in Las Vegas and the two main characters, Tyler and Maddie, are both troubled souls who have tragedies in their pasts that haunt them and continue to affect them to this day. Then their paths cross and fate intervenes in their life to bring them together. The story is told in dual POV of both characters, which I don't mind, but it does tend to be a little hard to follow due to the rambling nature of Tyler's POV. Their story is at times, gritty, and rough, and sexy and heartbreaking. A word of warning: this book does end in a cliffhanger. As a rule I don't like to read series where I have to wait forever to get to the end, but I do love JA Huss and based on the promise that the books were going to be released in quick succession I decided to get it, and I'm very glad that I day.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is the first JA Huss book I've read.  One of my blogger friends asked me if I would be interested in reading this new series by Huss and her co-author Johnathan McClain.  I know she loves Huss books so I said sure, I'll give it a whirl.   Sin with Me features Tyler, a veteran with loads of baggage and PTSD; as well as Maddie, an entrepreneur finding her way in the business world while stripping to make ends meet  These two meet at Maddie's strip club and their attraction to each other is explosive.  So much so neither can get the other out of their heads after they part ways.  While reading this book I thought the story was rather choppy.  I'm not sure if that's normal for these authors but then there are some chapters that are quite smooth.  Because of the choppiness of the story it took me longer to read this book than it normally would because I would put it down thinking I'd just come back to it later and it would read better.  HA!  Well...eventually I just pushed through it.  The story is a good one.  These two definitely have lots of demons in their closet and secrets they need to share.  Though what happens when they do you, the reader, will be so irritated with the characters!  Not to worry though this is a four book series.  I expect sometime in these four books Tyler and Maddie will eventually get their acts together!  One can only hope anyway.

The Huss/McClain writing team is a HOT one. This story has different points of view with different writing styles for each, but it works...it really does people. Reading this story was like watching a tv show. You can feel the difference in personalities just from the tone of the writing. Tyler and Maddie are both damaged souls, but find something in each other that helps heal old hurts. This is the first book in a four book series, so be prepared...this story is just beginning.

Oh my gawd!!! J.A. Huss has always done crazy unlike any other but now with Johnathan McClain they take crazy to a whole new level!!! Maddie’s life hasn’t turned out the way she had thought or planned for it. She’s stripping for a living and she’s got a mobster breathing down her neck even as every endeavor she attempts fails. Life has dumped all over her and there’s not a lot of motivation left for anything other than continuing on in the same vein she’s been traveling for the last several years. She is despair personified. On the other side of Vegas is Tyler. He’s got enough money to buy God himself and yet he could care less. His life has become a mishmash of drinking, sex, prescription drugs and waiting for the end to finally arrive. With the newly recurring dreams to further torture him he lives out his days in a void with the exception of the crazy that resides in his mind. This story was freaking awesome! From the beginning I felt every moment of anguish and self-flagellation. Neither of these characters felt worthy of anything good in their lives. When they finally meet, the chemistry pours off the page and I was tapping as quickly as possible as these authors drove the expectation higher and higher with each scene. While separately Maddie and Tyler were tortured individuals, together they became something more, something whole…perhaps even something that could move forward instead of being held prisoner in the past? I can’t even express the wild ride this book took me on. I dove in and never once stopped. When I reached the end I was tearing all around the internet trying to find something, anything that was going to shine a little light on what was going to happen next. So yep, it’s a cliffhanger and I’m not a fan of them but OMG! It couldn’t have ended at a more spectacularly timed moment if the devil himself had chosen it. And I’m not sure he didn’t! This advanced reader copy was provided by the authors and this is my willing and honest review. Dual POV Safe – no ow/om drama Triggers – no blatant triggers with exception of anything mentioned in review

What a crazy amazingly good start to the Original Sin series with this first book, Sin with Me, co-written by the talented team of J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain. The characters are complicated and so authentic that I was pulled into the rollercoaster drama that is each of their lives. Tyler and Maddie are both struggling and it is going to be a whole lot worse before it gets better. He is out of the military dealing with PTSD and she is trying to pay the bills while getting a new business off the ground. Their orbits intersect when his buddies bring him along on a visit to the club where she dances and the attraction is scary powerful. Can these two damaged souls become more? I can't wait to see what else awaits us.

This book completely took me by surprise. To be honest I wasn’t looking forward to my favorite author co-authoring with someone, I don’t share well. After the first few chapters I realized I was wrong (which never happens). But when I’m wrong I say I’m wrong, just like the dad in Dirty Dancing. I feel like Huss and McClain were meant to write together. Their voices were heard individually yet melted together like a dance. It is incredible how seamless the story flows. Ford and Scarlett errr Tyler and Maddie have a lot of individual baggage but good lord do they have chemistry. All too often I think authors forget to create “the spark” or energy between the characters. There was enough chemistry here that I wore safety goggles, tell your friends. One of my favorite things about Sin With Me is that is is not only dual POV but we get both point of views within the same scene. I absolutely love being inside both of their heads in the same moment, who wouldn’t?! Sin With Me is the start of two authors boarding the train to destiny, everybody says so. I am stoked to see what is next.

I am a MAJOR fan of J.A. Huss books as they are the ULTIMATE steamy, pleasure reading. Once I heard she was teaming up for an author duo with Johnathan McClain I had to get my grabby hands on this series! I had no idea what to expect and went in blindly knowing whatever J.A. Huss has her name on it, I am sure that I will LOVE it! And I LOVED IT!!! I devoured this book in less than a day and it just kept me on a roller coaster that I do not want to get off!

What. A. Ride! And to think, this is only just the beginning. We’ve barely scratched the surface of Tyler and Maddie’s story, which also means—there’s going to be so much more juicer, hotter, dirtier and more heart-stopping things coming up in the next books in the series than what we just witnessed here! In SIN WITH ME, we’re introduced to Tyler Morgan and Maddie Clayton who are two characters so utterly broken, damaged and trapped in their own nightmares. You’ll feel deep in your bones just how shattered these two are. How grief-stricken and lonely they are. They weren’t even living anymore; they were merely coasting through life, coping in their own way. And it HURT. That sadness truly came across loud and clear to me in this book because even I started to feel the pain and loneliness these characters were feeling. It was surely overwhelming, feeling all these kinds of emotions while being driven to the point of insanity, but in an oddly good way. Because it made me connect with them more. Feel for them and be with them in every single moment. This book was certainly all kinds of hot and it was immensely seductive, but I guess what drew me even more to this story was how much Tyler and Maddie’s brokenness, that state of feeling lost and despair that they share, pulled them even closer to each other. It was that brokenness that made them find solace in each other’s presence and arms and bodies, and made them... whole. Midway through, I started to have my own hunch on where things could lead up to, but that didn’t even take an inch away from the intensity levels this book showed me. The build up was that strong in this one. You just get more and more sucked into what you’re reading the farther you go. SIN WITH ME was undoubtedly dark and twisted and unlike any other I’ve read before. Just the tone of writing, especially with Tyler’s inner ramblings, was enough to pull me into the craziness and uniqueness of this story. I honestly love a book that drives me nuts—like legit batcrap crazy, and Ms. Huss has never failed to take me there. But now with Mr. McClain—an equally brilliant and talented actor and narrator—everything was brought to heights I couldn’t have imagined when reading a J. A. Huss book. But it’s here—this book is solid proof. And it was FIRE. My heart and wits were just completely blown to smithereens and I couldn’t get enough. Let me tell you, this brand new writing duo is beyond a match made in heaven. I couldn’t even distinguish who wrote what in this book. Their voices, those precious writing hands, just blended so seamlessly well. And regardless of the insanity and the heart-pounding moments that surrounded Tyler and Maddie’s tale, these two authors were still able to inject a great amount of humor that will make you crack up, balancing out the heavy tone of the book. JH & JM might be the new kids on the block in this co-authoring world, but you’ll soon realize, once you read this book, what a knockout of a GEM they are together. Like they’ve actually been doing this for YEARS. Because it was just. That. Flawless. This series is gearing up to be one of my greats—I just know it. And I’m already bursting at the seams for ANGELS FALL, what with the ending and cliffhanger we were left with. I’m ready to get thrown back into the flames. My body is ready. My mind is ready. My heart is ready. Bring. It. On.

WOW! What an incredible start to a new series! I have read alot by J.A. Huss, but this is the first book with Jonathan. J.A. always writes inccredible books, but this one is the best I think I've read written by her. So I would say this is a top-notch writing duo. I just finished this book, and am at a lost for words (or thoughts). This book is a true roller coaster of emotions and the end will leave you stunned. This series is going to be an absolute must read! I received an arc of this book from writer and am voluntarily reviewing

This book is freaking awesome. I think it is the collaboration of both of these great minds that make this book all that it is. Julie and Jonathan....OMG! It is a romance, but so much more. Thank you J&J.

Sin with Me is the first of four books in the Original Sin series, this is also the first release of the writing duo of JA Huss and Johnathan McClain. As a reader who has devoured all things Julie, this was a new experience and one that I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to get. It was erotic, melancholy and stunning. The first book builds the suspense and leaves you craving more. Two very distinct voices that just came together in an explosion on the pages. Told in dual POV with a few chapters of dueling dialogues and inner monologues – I must admit those were some of my favorite moments, there was just something about those moments that allowed the scenes to soar. In the debut, we meet Tyler and Maddie. Two broken souls in the city of sin. There was something tragic about both characters. Tyler, whose scars on the inside, rivaled those on the outside and Maddie, who hadn’t quite figured out how to give up, but wasn’t climbing any further from her hole. She was stuck. Dreaming big but living small. Although this book was sexy as sin and a little tragic, there were these breaks where Tyler’s sarcasm and humor shined. But with each quick-witted remark or musing, after the laugh faded you were left feeling like he was just masking his pain. There was a desperation about him. A man who was just waiting out the time left in this life. And Maddie... poor Maddie. I think what I loved most was how easily it was to find pieces of myself in the rubble. This is a gift that these authors have. The creation of characters that are just real. They come alive on the pages and they are relatable. Sure, your struggle might not be as dramatic, but man, you just can relate to them. It’s pure magic. Sin with me was BOLD. It was animalistic. And it was EFFING HEARTBREAKING. One bite of the forbidden and I am addicted.

This is book 1 of 4. I need the next book right now!! Can not wait to read more from these two authors! It did take me a little longer than usual to get into this story, but when I started linking things together I was hooked.

An intense beginning to this explosive new series from Julie and Johnathan! If you follow my reviews it is no secret to you that I read a lot of JA Huss. Her stories, her writing style, her world building all just resonate with me and I feel like I've found a kindred spirit in this author and maybe she really "gets me". I don't think I'm alone with these thoughts, I think a lot of her readers feel the same way, and she's created a small (12,000 member) Facebook group for her avid readers who devour her books. It feels like a family in there. Well, Julie has introduced a new member into the family. Her writing partner, Johnathan McClain. They've paired up to write a four book series together. I was of course curious to see how these two were going to collaborate and craft these stories. Would it still feel like a Julie book? What was Johnathan going to bring to the table? I needn't have worried at all. This is classic Julie, with an added dash of supreme wit that is Johnathan McClain. Tyler and Maddie are two very damaged people who are just trying to keep going each and every day. Tyler by losing himself in booze and sex, and Maddie visualizing she's climbing a never-ending mountain. Neither one in a place they thought they would be. But time and circumstances have beaten them down. Throw in some pretty devastating life events, and you're left with two shells of their former selves. Told in dual point of view, Julie and Johnathan craft such an intensely layered story that I felt like I was a fly on the wall, living and breathing alongside these people. Tyler Morgan, he is probably the most refreshing character I've read about in a long time. This dude lives half his life inside his head! Internal monologue can sometimes be a tricky thing in a book. If it's too long or tedious, it can detract from the story, but let me just say, it totally works in this one! The thoughts that run through Tyler's head at any given time are completely hilarious! I'm super f%cking witty. Everybody says so. I agree!! He is super f%cking witty. And interesting. He's more interesting than The Most Interesting Man in the World. By far. But Tyler has a lot of demons he is fighting, ones that have had ahold of him for way too long. The only thing that seems to be a saving grace for him is Maddie. Maddie has been pushing through each day for the past seven years. Nothing seems to work out for her, and she just keeps making one mistake after another with her life. No matter how much she keeps climbing that mountain, she never makes any progress. But when she's with Tyler she finds a peace she hasn't felt in a very long time. Put these two together, and they are explosive. We are fire. We are combustion. We are the raging inferno of purifying flame that will singe away all our pain and leave us barren and ready to begin again. In the punishing passion that we share, we can torture away whatever nightmares plague us and both wake born anew. With three more books to go and just a few hints so far as to what is coming, Maddie and Tyler have a long road ahead of them. The question in my head at this point is, will they be taking that road together or will they continue to struggle through alone? I sure hope not because together, I think they are a force to be reckoned with. She is a fallen angel and I am sin itself. I can't wait to see what this angel and this devil have in store for us!

Sin With Me is the first book in a four-book, romantic suspense series from the new writing team of J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain. Sin With Me beautifully sets up what is sure to be a scintillating series. Maddie, whose stage name is Scarlet, is pretty, petite, and smart, but she has a knack for making bad decisions that have staying power. What is she doing with that degree from LVNU? She is doing nothing lucrative and nothing prestigious. Personal tragedy in her past haunts her daily. She has surrounded herself with people who are equally stuck in a downward spiral of bad choices and despair. Her situation seems hopeless, and I found myself feeling oppressed with her burdens as well as desperately wanting to help her. Tyler, a veteran with a lucrative patent, has it made financially; however, his multiple tours of duty have left him physically and emotionally scarred. His reality sometimes seems like a bad acid trip. Between the copious amounts of alcohol he consumes and his mood-altering prescriptions, Tyler is clearly losing the battle with his demons. “Will the angel of his dreams drag him to the depths of Hell?” is the million-dollar question. Ms. Huss and Mr. McClain cleverly present their characters. In alternating chapters, Maddie and Tyler give readers their backstory and share the skeletons in their closets. The female-male writing team adds a sense of veracity to the voices of their female and male characters. Maddie is intelligent and hopeful and yet filled with despair. Tyler is humorous in his meandering musings, and he feels doomed and hopeless in his survivor’s guilt. While it felt like I could pick out which author wrote which character, the writing fits like two perfectly matched puzzle pieces. True to style, Huss’ story is more than it seems. Sin With Me is a lot of character development and story set up. Readers get a punch to the gut reveal and a tantalizing segue to the next book in the series, Angels Fall (due March 27th). The plot has a great pace and a good balance of suspense and hotness. Some of the scenes are surreal (in the Hunter S. Thompson sort of alternative reality way). All in all, Sin With Me is not only an excellent debut as a new writing team, but a fantastic story with a great hook. I for one, am anxiously awaiting the next installment of Maddie and Tyler’s tale.

I have read all of JA Huss books except the Junco series and have loved them all. I was super excited when she said she was pairing up with Johnathan McClain. I wasn't sure what to expect. But with Huss's other books you always expect the unexpected. This book was full of chaos right from the start. I will be honest (don't strike me down) I wasn't sure if I liked it at first. There was so much chaos and I wasn't sure where it was headed. But it got better for me after while. You can definitely tell which parts are Huss and which parts are McClain which makes it kind of cool when reading because you feel as if both characters stand out on their own. Tyler and Maddie broken souls. I don't know that if being together is going to heal them or burn them to the ground. I don't know if Huss and McClain are going to Heaven or Hell. But I will follow them anywhere.

Sin With Me is the first book co-written by J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain and let me just say they are truly a force to be reckoned with! This is one incredible writing duo and their words flow seamlessly together. Written in alternating POV's, both Tyler and Maddie have unique voices that only these two authors could provide. What a ride this is. And this is just the beginning thank goodness. Once Tyler and Maddie meet by accident in Las Vegas, there is a simmer that just won't go away. And it's not like there is a relationship brewing. It's more like a sexual burning that needs to be sated. These two are both suffering and live lives that they expect. Tyler is a wealthy hermit who finds his pleasures with random women during drunken binges. Maddie is the intelligent stripper who only wants to make money in order to survive and hopefully keep a certain miscreant at bay. Both are clearly missing what they are craving: inner peace. It's only a matter of time as to whether they can be each other's refuge. This story kept me on edge. I knew that the proverbial shoe had to drop at some point. Tyler and Maddie's worlds did not collide by accident. Each dreading Halloween. Each in a pain they can't seem to abate. Yet their random times together, as Ford and Scarlett, seem to be the only moments that give them some sort of respite from their troubles. And talk about chemistry. These two have it tenfold. This book is the start of what I predict will be one of the best stories told this year. A new collaboration that is both witty and touching. There is enough heartache to go around but it's beautifully mixed with tender moments of clarity for both characters that I had hoped could last more than just a night. I cannot wait for the next installment as more secrets and shame are revealed for this unsettled couple. It's an adventure worth taking and I can't recommend it highly enough. 5 huge stars!

What an intense twisted story. Tyler is one intense complicated man. Maddie is one screwed up complicated woman. Loved the twists in this story. It took me awhile to connect with the characters but once that happened I couldn’t put the book down. They make for one complicated explosive couple. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Everybody’s damaged in their own way, it’s just at what level that is the question. Maddie and Tyler are both suffering from trauma that has left them lost in this world. They’re living to just exist. That is until they meet each other and think maybe there might be something bigger. Or is it another opportunity to get knocked back down? Nothing like reading a book that makes you take a look at your own life. Jesus. This book. Despite causing some self reflection, it was also pretty funny. Tyler’s rambling was humorous. But more than anything I kept looking at Tyler and Maddie’s connection. I knew there was more to it. If you’ve read Huss before then you know something big is about to happen. I always find it interesting how JA Huss pieces a story together. I’m always looking for the clues and I just need to be patient and let her take me there. This is the first book she has written with Jonathan McClain and you can feel his presence in the story. It was a great blend of both writers. These two work really well together. This story was very fast pace. I was at the end before I knew it and trying to keep turning pages because they did not just leave us with this huge cliffhanger! Gah! I need the next book! Holy F@*k..... amazing debut book for this duo! Sin with Me was a story that gripped me, allured me and captivated me while holding me hostage from beginning to end. Tyler and Maddie's story is an emotional ride of two broken souls looking for the light in a world where they are surrounded by darkness. There was so much to this story.....loss, hurt, heat and intense chemistry that had me burning through page after page. Prepare yourself for one helluva ending that will leave you with a WTF moment and yelling give me the next book NOW!!
