Mental Math is excellent! We know math is the practice of thinking. This excellent book exactly combines math with critical thinking. It follows Singapore math method to prepare children for learning addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It teaches my daughter how to picture in her minds the values and sizes of numbers. After using this workbook, my daughter learned how to work out math problems in her mind and practice math problems while developing her thinking and analytical skills. She used to use calculator or pencil to get her answers, but now she can quickly answer the questions just by calculating in her mind. My daughter's math sense is improved significantly since we used this invaluable book. We love it. For additional practice, I simply used the free printable worksheets on the Beestar website. It is probably the best among the many learning sites. The worksheets are well-designed and have both time and accuracy targets set for your child to practice. If you are like me, you will be glad to find that sometimes free stuff is even better.
