This is the first book I have read by Klasky. The new "Jane Madison Academy" series is actually a continuation of the previous "Jane Madison" series; I did not know that when I picked it up, but I had no trouble at all following the story. Kudos to Klasky for making it so easy for new readers to catch up. "Single Witch's Survival Guide" is a fast, fun story. The characters are great; I love the interaction between Jane and David, and Jane and her Gran and mother Clara. The magic was unusual and well-developed, and it was a nice change of pace to see a paranormal series in which Hekate is given more than just lip service. Quick, forthy, with just enough weight to leave the reader wanting more. A great read for a rainy afternoon. Recommended to fans of HP Mallory and Kimberly Frost. -- lyradora

After reading this first book in the Jane Madison Academy series, I am hooked! The Jane Madison books are fully of quirky humor, a touch of modern romance (and the pitfalls of dating today) and the joys of friends and family.

You may think this is a stupid paranormal romance and just pass it by, but you are so wrong! You really care about Jane. Snubbed and dissed by her ex-fiancee, job is going to pit but she loves it so she tries to stick it out, shy and not confident enough to date let alone introduce herself to the hot proffessor who is at the library every day. Suddenly, she finds a key. She reads a book(no harm ever came from reading a book, right), and all of a sudden she's caught in a whirlwind of a life she never expected to live. Three cheers for Jane and those therapy mojitos(read the book!)

It has been a while since I read the other Jane Madison books but I enjoyed them all especially Neko. He was my favorite character and I was so happy when David and Jane got together in the third book! In this book we get to revisit them and meet new characters. It was so nice to see old friends and the ending left a huge smile on my face. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the previous Jane Madison books....
