After a shocking admission by Archer Rhys, Skye Morrison and the rest of The Mausoleum's vampire crew have to deal with the aftermath of Houston business owner and fellow vampire Greyson Mead's murder. A gruesome discovery in Skye's driveway forces her out of her house and temporarily into Archer's lakeside mansion with her co-workers Trey, Hunter, Quinn, Seamus, Lochlan, Jameson, and of course the ever jealous Aoife. Skye must now live under the same roof with the two men she wants most and things are bound to get complicated. With a psychotic murderer on the loose hell bent on killing vampires and the appointed army of The Faithful having no luck in finding them, will Skye's new boss and co-workers live to see next week? Will Skye make it out of Archer's mansion alive?

Skye awakens and is uncertain of where she is or what's going on. She believes she has died, but she soon discovers Archer transformed her into a Day Walker. Her troubles are far from over, though, and she may not live long enough to learn how to control her vampire skills. In this installment of the Skye Morrison Vampire series, J.L. McCoy focuses solely on Skye's transformation. Readers will relate to how the young woman goes through normal feelings of not only survival but also self-realization. McCoy touches our hearts as her heroine matures and makes an unbelievable sacrifice at the end to protect those she loves. I can't wait to read the next story.
Series Review: Books ONE to THREE Reviewer: Justine Rating: 4.5/5 Fairies Skye Morrison Vampire series, by J.L. McCoy, consists of Blood of the Son (book #1), Sins of the Father ( book #2), and The Original Sin (book #3) and the recently released Legacy of Blood (review out very soon!). This series floored me! I was sucked in (pun intended) from the very beginning with book one and was screaming “OFF WITH HER HEAD” (that would be J.L. McCoy’s head I was looking for) by the end of book 3! Even though they were all decent size books at just under 250 pages each, I gobbled them down in the record time of a day and a half. With all this awesome there is of course a catch. Sadly, Miss McCoy committed a cardinal Justine sin in two of the three books! The ending had no conclusion! I got to the last sentence turned the page..…… and my e-reader smacks me across the face with a blank page!!!!! I was all "Holy Cliffhanger Batman!!” I am giving this series an overall 4.5 fairies! But warn you that you may want to buy both book 1 and book 2 at the sometime to avoid cliffhangover. I unfortunately will not recover from my book 3 cliffhangover till the next book Legacy of Blood which is available now.
