Siren's Secret by Trish Albright

Siren's Secret, Book 2, The Keepers of the Legacy Series:

Trish Albright is a multi-award winning author, known for her epic romantic adventures. Siren's Secret, the second in her Keepers of the Legacy series, takes readers on a roller-coaster romp from British Museum to the tombs of Egypt to uncover the secrets of an ancient prophecy.

Lady Olivia Yates had an accomplished mind, a scholarly vocabulary, and thanks to her father, a fascination and expertise of all things Egyptian. The one thing she didn't have was any experience outside the walls of London. Then her father is kidnapped, a colleague is murdered, and Olivia finds herself in the arms of the one man who can help her save the day.

Captain Samuel Stafford was instantly intrigued by the silver-eyed, lady professor. She was driven, clever, and surprisingly persuasive - otherwise he'd never be in this kind of danger! From fighting off pirates to hunting for treasure, Samuel realizes there is no place he wouldn't go to win the heart of one remarkable woman and finally discover the Siren's Secret.

Reviewers Praise Trish Albright:
"Albright cements her place as an adventure/romance writer with her second roller-coaster ride of a story when an American shipping magnate and a British Egyptologist match wits and wiles in a race to decode an ancient prophecy. The fun begins on page one and continues to the very satisfying end."
—Romantic Times BOOKreviews

“For a summertime book at the beach, what could be better than a delightful, romantic, swashbuckling escapade…This fast-paced, exciting high seas adventure is sure to keep you as riveted as it did me.”

In 1791 though everyone who knows her believes Lady Olivia Yates is brilliant, she hides some of her skills from society. Thus when she learns of a mistranslated Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic artifact at the British Museum, she decides to correct the error though knowing no one would believe a female could do this; ignoring her archeologist dad mentored her.------------------ However, someone does not want the truth known and tries to kill Olivia. American shipping Captain Samuel Stafford rescues her and finds he is attracted to her though he estimates he knows the meaning of perhaps fifty percent of the vocabulary she uttered on their first meeting. He vows to keep her safe; not knowing what that implies until Olivia informs him she seeks a legendary treasure on the other side of the world. He seeks treasure too, but has found it in Olivia even if that means fighting pirates off the Barbary Coast and exposing vile villains trying to steal her work.------------------- SIREN'S SECRET is an exciting Georgian romantic adventure starring two likable lead characters. Similar in tone to the pirate romance SIREN'S SONG yet different, this late eighteenth century action-packed tale is a bit over the top of the seven Seas. However, no one will care because of the heroine who sets the tone with her courage and need to know; which proves infectious to her beloved captain and the admiring audience who will want to accompany them on their journey because we need to know also.----------------- Harriet Klausner

Lady Olivia Yates enjoys deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphics, yet no one in London or England takes her seriously. One evening she is caught going thorough Lord Greyson's research room and is flung through the window. Olivia hangs on and makes it into another room, where she falls on Samuel Stafford, brother of her grace the Duchess of Worthington. Before she leaves Lord Greyson's home, Lord Greyson is found murdered, and thus begins a long journey. With the help of Samuel Stafford, Olivia must make it to Egypt to find her father. But always a step behind is someone wanting Olivia dead. This is the sequel to Siren's Song, but it stands alone. I loved Olivia and her intellect. To bad that she was constrained to what men said were a woman's role in Georgian England. I loved the dialogue between Olivia and Samuel. Samuel was the classic hero. The secondary characters were great also.

Great adventure story with Romance included. How can you miss! I couldn't put it down and I can't wait for the next one to be released. I also recommend Siren's Song - which was the first in this series.

Yet another page turner from the talented Trish Albright. I am not a romance reader, but when I read the first Siren's Song... hooked. This is not your typical Romance Novel. It is full of clever characters and very well constructed. It will leave you wanting for more. Can't wait til the next book!!!
