About the Author

Jack Harney grew up in the Mott Haven area of the Bronx, still one of the poorest and more diverse areas of New York City. Irish born, it was no surprise he chose his main character, Dax McGowan, to have a parallel background. It's also no surprise Harney's lifelong interest in everything Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes, Dax would employ a similar skill set in his work as a detective.
Spending most of his adult life in the world of business, and despite being known for applying a creative flair in those pursuits, Harney describes those years as his Left Brain Period. Four years ago, he entered what he now calls his Right Brain Period, doing what he has always desired to do most, write.
