About the Author

Darryl Alexander. Hines

Author Darryl A. Hines might be described by some as a Renaissance Man. Darryl believes that the mind and spirit have no creative limitations and as a result he has enjoyed a career as an attorney, a visual artist and author of the suspense thriller, Desdemona. Hines is a former Martha Holden Jennings Fellow and attended the Chautauqua Institute in Chautauqua, New York where he studied painting and creative art. He attended college and earned a degree in journalism and creative writing and later earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree.

Darryl's legal background meshes well with his writing as he is able to draw upon real life circumstances, people and places during those years he served as a criminal defense attorney. His storylines are intricate and detailed and his characters are believable and multi-dimensional.

Darryl's debut novel, "Desdemona" has been described as "an intriguing, grownup sexy thriller". Its sequel, "Sketches" revives the roguish character Mackenzie Powell and introduces readers to Miko Kitaro, a former detective and police sketch artist who years ago collaborated with Mac in the business of recovering stolen art for fun and profit.

Darryl lives in Atlanta, Georgia and Cleveland, Ohio and when he not writing or painting he practices law as a diversion. His artwork can be found at the highly regarded Peter Street Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia and the Lona Gallery in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
