Favorite Quotes: Like I’m lower than a cockroach wearing stained underwear. She wanted a man who was romantic, but not needy. She wanted someone who would love her forever even when she was ninety, wrinkled, and peed just a little when she sneezed because she’d had beautiful children with him. Honey, we are all attracted to him. Reed is complete husband material. And bean-flicking material. And heartbreak, fan-club, tramp-stamp material. When you do see him, just remember that he’s only hot on the outside. On the inside, he’s covered in scabs and festering boils. My Review: This was my first time experiencing the talented Ms. Pamfiloff’s creatively witty word skills, and I am giddy with delight and bawdy glee over my discovery. I enjoyed this cleverly amusing and engaging tale from beginning to end and had marked several pages of favorite quotes, although many of them could not be used due to Macie’s amusing filthy and creative use of profanity. I adored the robust Macie; she was spunky, endearing, and highly relatable. The storylines were fresh and entertaining with more unexpected curves than Macie’s ample shapeliness. Ms. Pamfiloff’s writing was highly entertaining, thoroughly engaging, and just plain fun. I could kick myself for my careless sloth in taking so long to notice her work. I have been remiss and greedily covet her words.

Skinny Pants is Book 3 in in The Happy Pants Cafe Series but I think it's easily a stand alone. I haven't read the previous books in the series and had no problems connecting with this story. First of all I want to say that being a larger size woman I really related to Macie. The only difference is that I don't even attempt to be healthy and she's healthy just still a larger size woman. I totally understand the feeling of people looking right threw her or overlooking her due to her size. After a brutal day of her self esteemed being knocked she gets a little inebriated and signs up on a dating site completely lying about herself. Imagine her surprise when she walks into an appointment and the doctor is none other than the sexy Doctor J-Love that she has been chatting with. Dr Jack Reed immediately actually 'saw' Macie. I think Jack is drawn to Macie's realness and her sass (love that girl!). They become friends first and it builds from there. These two are both closed off from personal relationships for entirely different reasons. Marcie is an amazing young lady that has the best caring type demeanor a nurse can possibily have but due to her self esteem being knocked too many times in the past is not receptive to closer relationships than her own friends. Jack's ex-wife really did a number on him that makes him distrustful and a little bitter. I love how the author slowly builds their relationship. I think the friends to lovers is the best type of relationship to have. My absolute favorite part is when Jack's stands up for Marcie after another Doctor is very condescending to her about her size. Seriously, I swooned. Their underlying distrust of others has them being torn apart before they even have a chance. Now we have to see if Jack can overlook being catfished and if he can if Macie can forgive him for being so callous to her. This is a wonderful written story that caught drew me in from the very beginning and kept me intrigued until the very end.

Can a girl who is not a size 8 find a mate to love her? Nurse Macie is just at the end of her rope. Her best friends are in serious relationships. She, on the other hand, feels like she has been in hibernation! It is time to make changes! Signing on to a singles match site and posting while drunk can get you in a lot of trouble, as Macie is about to find out. Doctor Jack has been put through the wringer. Married for over 10 years, he found out his wife was leaving him for another woman. How could he have been so clueless? He had known her all his life and thought they were close intimate friends who then married and became lovers. He is feeling betrayed and lonely. Will he be able to find a woman who is honest, intelligent, and who does not lie? This is a delightful story of two lonely people who are scarred and in need to find their soulmates. Once again those magical cookies are weaving their spell! This story though comes with ups and downs, chills and thrills. I loved Nurse Macie. She is a modern woman who learns to accept herself and forge ahead. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.

Review: One of the things that I loved about this story is the witty writing. There is not a lot of heart in the book too. So much so that there were a couple of points when my heart hurt for both Macie and Jack, especially Macie when Jack goes off the rails and thinks everyone is conspiring against him. Doesn't help with a case of catfishing and mistaken identities. Macie, is a little insure, but strong and caring. She is the kind of friend you want at your back. I liked that she stood up for herself with co-worker and friends. Jack, he is a very complicated character. He comes off at first as cold. But as the story goes on I fell in love with him just like Macie did. They do have the help of some magic cookies and a stubborn Macie to get them through their issues. There was a great ending to satisfy fans of the series. I have read Ms. Pamfiloff and always like her fun and sexy writing style. This is exactly what I expect from her when I read one of her books. 4Stars *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book provided by the Author.*

What can I say about this read that hasnt already been said? But here goes....this was such a feel good real to life story that I wasnt able to put it down till I hit the last page and my eyes topped focusing. I have to admit that I didnt read the books before this one but it didnt take away from this one at all. The catfish thing kind of bothered me at first but after I got into the story I was able to get past it. As one review said....cant go wrong with heart, humor and cookies.

This last book in the series was a delight to read. With each new book Mimi shows more depth of character and plot. As expected there are unexpected plot twists, lovable reoccurring characters, just adore Ms. Luci and don't forget about Happy Pants and the pig. Dr J-Love/Dr Reed is wonderfully funny and sexy. Anyone who has read one of Mimi's books knows that her females are strong and sassy and Macie is no exception. My only complaint is that I want more of this series, I love the family of characters she creates and can't believe their stories are over. Or is it?

Hated this book. After all the glowing reviews, even though I had stopped reading this author I made the decision to give it another try. Once again, disappointed!! Not sure if all the other glowing reviews and I were even reading the same book? ??Truthfully, in my opinion, ave your money, don't waste your time and pass on this book. The female lead is a door mat to the male lead, apparently just because he is so pretty, and the male lead is a judgemental, over reacting douche with the personality of a wet fish.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff can write on any genre!!! This romantic comedy kept me laughing out loud! I'm so sad this was the last book in the series but I'm sure Mimi Jean will cook up something incredible next!! Jack and Macie were just ridiculous together, in a funny way. It was like everything they tried to do fell apart and made me laugh. Macie accidentally hooked a guy under false pretenses and now she's afraid he won't be able to accept the real her. Friends to lovers with a little bit of misunderstanding and anger mixed in. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be added to my re read shelf!!!

Skinny Pants is an EXCELLENT written romance! I got HOOKED on Macie and Jack! Just like Macie I couldn't tell if Jack was into Macie as a friend or wanted her as his woman until the very end and it was that confusion that made this story endearing. Normally you know RIGHT AWAY in a romance when a guy likes a woman but damn, for once I couldn't tell and it drove me batty in a very good way. I found myself flying through the book to find out EVERYTHING. And these characters...FANTASTIC! I liked them both a whole lot and the fact that there was both heat and humor made this book even more incredible. From the moment I started this book I knew I was going to be in for a real treat. Nothing gets me more interested in a romance than when the heroine is a curvy one. When I find that she is super sweet, fun, sassy, and just as thrown by Jack as I was it made me like her more because that connection was just...THERE! Its not often I find a connection with a heroine but Macie...yea I totally get her and LOVED HER. Jack is a WAY TO PERFECT MAN..except when it came to what he wanted and his feelings. I wanted to smack him more than once but hot damn, I also wanted to SHOVE him at Macie and say, this is a woman you just HAVE to have and in the end I am VERY pleased with how things turned out. I HIGHLY recommend this book! Skinny Pants gets a DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! WELL DONE INDEED!

Even the strongest among us has moments of weakness and insecurity Skinny Pants is story packed full of mixed signals, missteps, regrets, laughs, possibility and ultimately hope. Nurse Macie Franklin is active, smart, self-confident, calm in the face of chaos, and unflappably happy. So how does the local man-whore doctor send her into a spiral of self-doubt? Macie doesn’t think about her appearance. She exercises regularly, eats healthy, loves life, and works hard. She’s also given up on ever dating. Why? She happens to be overweight, and constantly landing in the friend zone of anyone she could find herself attracted to. After a unusually bad day Macie finds herself unable to let the latest snub from the “Chadster”go. What better way to relax that drink a bottle sparkling wine, drunkenly signs up on a dating app and accidentally catfishes Dr. J-Love and making what could be a real connection. Unfortunately, it’s too late to undo the lie once she meets Dr. Reed in person. Jack Reed just wants to move on with his life. He’s not looking for a fling he’s looking for the one. Only problem is that he’s not exactly over the deception his ex-wife dealt him. In Macie he finds someone who is caring, easy to talk to and a joy to be around. How do two damaged individuals find a way past their hang ups and insecurities? Skinny Pants is the fourth and final book in the Happy Pants Café series. This is another of those easy “poolside reads” that although lighthearted, delves into situations that anyone of us could find ourselves in. Jack and Macie are inherently relatable, as you find yourself alternately wanting to smack some sense into them and rooting for them to find their happy ending. Nothing worth having ever comes easily and Mimi does an excellent job of painting the humanity of her characters with words, wisdom and laughs as they struggle to become who they were meant to be. It’s easy to lose yourself in her world for a while you laugh, cry, yell, and probably see very real similarities to things in your own life. I know I did.

I loved reading the amazing, heartbreaking, and awesome third book in the Happy Pants series. After a doctor makes a rude comment to Nurse Macie Franklin about her weight, goes home and has one too many drinks, gets on an online dating app, puts a skinny picture of herself, has a sexy conversation with a Dr. J-Love, and the next morning makes an appointment with Dr. Jack Reed, a surgeon. Macie is shocked to see that Dr. Reed is none other than Dr. J-Love. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written storyline, captivating and engaging the reader from the first page until the last page, and a must read love story.

Heartwarming, fun, quirky, sweet, sexy and thrilling romantic journey filled with passion, heart, longing and true acceptance. Letting go of a painful past and truly embracing who you are inside and out are hard things to do. DR. JACK REED is charming, sexy, funny and has been burned by the love of his life living a lie for so very long.... NURSE MACIE FRANKLIN is sweet, fun, sassy and is so done with being friend-zoned by every guy she is attracted to. She makes an online dating profile and after hooking the perfect guy decides to make a drastic change to become more like the picture she presents. Only as luck or life would have it she runs smack dab into Dr. perfect in the exam room. Does she come clean??? Loved this emotionally engaging and highly entertaining story and was delighted to visit one of my all time favorite charters Miss Luci from the Happy Pants Café.

This book was quite interesting!! This is the final book in this series. Macie was super awesome in life, but she had such insecurities with her outer appearance. Jack was awesome!! His past truly sucked. I loved his family. I enjoy the matching making of the Happy Pants Cafe. Luci is AMAZING!!! The twist and mix up was great. I really enjoyed this book!!

RATING 4.5 STARS Skinny Pants is the third and final book in the Happy Pants series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Nurse Macie Franklin had long ago accepted that she would never be like her skinny best friends. She’d tried numerous diets, she ate healthy and she worked out regularly. But she just couldn’t seem to shed the extra pounds. Macie loved her life, her family and her friends. She was a great nurse and she loved helping people. But she was tired of being friend zoned by men that she was attracted to. It was after one of the doctors at the hospital where she worked embarrassed her with his comments, that she decided it was finally time to make a change. She’d tried to lose weight by taking care of herself with diet and exercise. Now it was time to consider getting rid of the weight a different way. It was on this night that she was feeling pretty low which was completely uncharacteristic for her, that she might have had a couple or so glasses of wine. And in her slightly intoxicated state she might have made an online profile on a dating site. And the picture she posted of herself might not have actually really been her but a much skinnier woman. She immediately met Dr. J. Love and they exchanged several messages. He sounded like a great guy but then again, she was a little tipsy. Much to her shock, when she visits the surgeon at her hospital to discuss weight loss surgery, in walks the man she was messaging with last night according to the pictures he sent. Dr. J. Love himself. “How could he or any man love her for what was inside if they couldn’t get past the exterior wall? Dr. Jack Reed had his heart broken two years ago when his wife who was also his childhood best friend and the woman he had given his whole heart to, left him for another woman. He felt like his entire marriage had been a lie. He didn’t know if he could ever trust a woman again. Truthfullness was everything to him, especially after what had happened. Then in walked Macie to his examination room. He instantly felt like he wanted to get to know her better. That she was different than the other women he knew. These two’s start was complicated to say the least. Macie had connected with Jack via her online fake profile. The picture wasn’t really her but the words were. If Jack found out she had lied to him, he would never forgive her after what he’s been through. But she knows herself well enough that she’s not going to be able to live with the lie. It will eat away at her until she tells him. The attraction was immediate between these two. But they both still needed some fixing before they could commit to any sort of relationship between them. Jack had to get over his ex. He still carried so much anger and betrayal. And Macie needed to learn to really love herself. She needed to feel like her outside was just as beautiful as her inside. Do these two even stand a chance together? Then there are those magic Happy Pants Café cookies. Jack is adamant that he doesn’t believe in the foolishness of the cookies bringing true love within seven days to those who eat them. I felt like this book was different than the previous books in the series. It dealt with something real that we all suffer from at one time or another, accepting and loving ourselves as we are. I feel like it also deals with forgiveness. That you have to forgive those that have hurt you in the past before you can truly move on.

Being true to yourself is not easy when there are others seeking to tear you down. Jack and Macie are learning to work through personal issues ranging from infidelity to body image as they tumble into love. Neither gives their heart easily, but with the risk, comes a grand reward. Happiness. Skinny Pants stamps out negativity with humorous dialogue, emotion packed wisdom and positive storytelling.
