This is a fun adventure read where brainy magic and girl power triumph over manly brawn, and friendship and ingenuity are as valuable as honor and nobility. A pair of young friends battle against evil forces while upholding Acts from the Noble Deeds and Duties guide (i.e. "Beware Danger, not the Unknown" and "Appreciate the Giver More than the Gift"). Magic is used, evil forces vanquished and rescues are made, all in the course of an exciting adventure. The bad guys are spooky, but not so scary as to give nightmares to young readers. Highly recommended.

My 9 year old son got hooked on these when his teacher started reading these to the class and then the authors came to visit their school. Very good stories for kids this age.

Am including Cauldron Cooker's Night in my comments about this second book in the Knightscares series. These are absolutely fine books for children in the 9-12 age group, full of suspense, fun, excitement and most of the other elements that entice children of those ages to read. In addition, there are elements that should please the parents and grandparents, teachers and concerned friends among us. These authors slip into their stories some wonderfully important moral values as well as a healthy lesson in social conscience. And it's all done with the most delightful spoonful of sugar. Doesn't get much better for kids than what I've read so far from these authors, and I strongly urge kids and those who care about them to look into these books.
