This is a must read-it touches on everything from love, bullying, death, addictions (gambling), to overcoming it all! Sometimes we have to be reminded that professional athletes are just people too and go through the same trials as we do. It was refreshing to hear his story. I am so glad he shared it with the world. You should read this book -

Sleepless Nights is such a wonderful inspirational read. A total breath of fresh air! A lot of pro sport fans think of athletes as these untouchable creatures who live the easiest life in the world. Marques does a wonderful job to shed light on that and through his life experiences and words shows that athletes are just like normal blue collared people. They go through ups and downs, and he shows that life is all about pouncing on fumbles and showing how you recover. I was very moved by how Marques never let anything bad completely take over, and how he relied on his family and friends and faith to turn his life around. I would HIGHLY recommend Sleepless Nights for any football fan, aspiring business owner, or even someone who has a business and might take it for granted. I wish there was a way to get this book into the hands of high school and college students studying business and fiancé to show them how valuable the dollar is. I hope Marques can keep influencing people, young football players, and even NFL rookies to show them how valuable the dollar is, and to never get caught up on the "beautiful woman walking by" as he referred to during his rookie year. This book gets an 11 out of 10 for me! It's a fast read, and you are constantly curious what is on the next page. I'm glad Marques shared some pictures of his family with us in the book too! Thanks Marques!

I picked up a copy of Sleepless Nights The NFL : A Business and Family. I found it to be an engaging story that started off slowly but each chapter opened my eyes to an incredible real life odyssey about the rise and fall and bounce back of an NFL player fighting demons but never completely giving up. Marques Ogden paints a picture of an athlete who did not gain the recognition he deserved due to his older brother Jonathan Ogden’s fame but from his own hard work, focus and commitment. However, it all came apart as he jumped too quickly in the business world unprepared and trusting the wrong people. The loss of his father, the addiction to alcohol and gambling sent him into an emotional and financial spiral. The saving grace in this downfall came from his incredibly supportive wife and from the NFL Player Care Foundation.

I read a lot personally and professionally and it is refreshing to read something as candid and as thoughtful as this. The author shares his imperfect (i.e., honest) life story and what he’s learned from it so far. One of the best things about the book is it really is not what you would expect since the byline is a retired NFL player and younger brother of an NFL hall of famer. This is not yet another ‘self help’ book or a ‘rah rah’ sports exposition. Instead it’s an inside look at what the author’s life is all about; it is just coincidence that he played professional football. I won’t ruin it for you, but the short version is… it’s not what you expect. There’s a nugget in here for everyone. Highly recommended!

Thank you for sharing your personal experiences, thoughts and emotions! While reading this, who would of thought that a girl like me and an NFL retiree would share similar emotions?! Your story is relateable not only in my life but I'm sure someone somewhere is experiencing hardships and needs to know that they aren't alone. i learned a lot and will take these lessons and apply them to raising my son and to remind myself to never give up not matter how hard life seems. Pressing on and putting your best foot forward WILL pay off. I definitely cried, especially in chapter 9 reading about your dad, but i also felt proud, laughed, was sad but also excited throughout. I would recommend this book for everyone to read, especially the impressionable youth. Thank you again for being a role model and inspiration to everyone who reads this. Much success to you Marques!

Sleepless Nights The NFL: A Business And Family is a must read for anyone, including children. It is not your common professional athlete going broke story; in fact, it is the complete opposite. Marques Ogden discusses how being underfunded and one bad business deal can cost you all of your savings. This book also discusses his personal problems that all of us go through on a day-to-day basis. I've had the pleasure of knowing Marques and Bonnie personally and know they both put a lot of hard work and time composing this book to appeal to anyone, not just former NFL athletes. It is a fast read and keeps you engaged throughout, versus the typical book where you are counting the pages. If given the opportunity, I would rate this book higher than 5 stars.

This book is a great inspiration! You can tell it was written from the heart and is an honest raw account. Once you start reading you'll have to keep going till the end! People make bad choices and have hard times but Marques Ogden makes it clear that doesn't have to be your whole story!

THIS BOOK HAS POTENTIAL TO BE A BEST SELLER! I'm intrigued by the author and his way of bringing his story. It's not a feel sorry book but REAL. Its a simple read that will have you wanting to finish it fast. His renewed faith and desire to reinvent himself are clear marks of a champion. I believe a generation of athletic professionals need to read this from high school students to potential draft prospects, but don't think this is a book for just this group, its a must read among all that need encouraging, motivation, jump start, and renewed FAITH. His willingness to come and share on this platform is remarkable! TO THE AUTHOR: "This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good." ~ Unknown I wish you much success, and i want to THANK YOU for sharing your story GOD BLESS ALWAYS!
