Overview

SLOANE, by Jim Brannon, is the story of ancient Celtic magic--of a young woman preparing to become a priestess of the Mother, and the man whose destiny is to love her.

Slaone is raised by the women of her late Mother's glen who want her to become an initiate and live alone on a magical island.  However, she is alone only in the physical sense, as on the island she is approached by beings from other worlds.  Her life attains further dimensions when Sir Dordar of the Rock Isle, who is served by a giant vulture--the bird of the flying death--commits deeds that, unbeknownst to him, will bring Sloane face to face with her future lover, the viking warrior, Cillian. Meanwhile, Cillian's dreams are haunted by the image of the ginger-haired girl, Sloane, whose fate he knows is somehow intertwined with his own.

This is a story of good versus evil, filled with battle and bloodshed, love and loyalty, and proof that people can grow change. SLOANE takes you into a fantasy world consisting of three words close together and those who cross between them.

Sloane....an excellently written book that grabbed my interest from page the very first page! A story of a young girl who lived in the sisterhood of a special time and place. A unique mixture of reality meets myth. I couldn't stop reading from the moment I opened the book. The characters are riveting and you will find yourself becoming lost in their world....a world of good, a world of evil. A world in which peace meets violence. There is an added twist at the end, unexpected by even the most adventurous of minds! This book will leave you wanting more! Mr. Brannon has an exciting and descriptive writing style that brings the characters to life, which will keep this book in your hands from beginning to end.
